Low BMI Gastric Sleeve story
Man With No Answers replied to lady10000000000's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was low BMI also. I am 5’10 but weighed 265. I fluctuate between 185 and 190 now. Your stomach helps you over rule your brain. I can only share my experience. I also had read about hair loss and decided, in the end, to throw caution to the wind. I can say that I experienced NO hair loss that I could see. The decision to have the sleeve was absolutely the best decision I made in my life. Good luck to you and put your trust in your instincts. -

Researching doctors in Mexico
Man With No Answers replied to sheronep's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I chose Dr. Corvalo Lopez at Angeles Hospital. It is a teaching hospital and he trained many of the doctors now people are talking about. That's why I selected him. Very good experience. Very nice hospital. Very nice driver. I had my low BMI sleeve on 4/26 and couldn't be happier with my decision or the medical team I chose. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

Hang in. I was sleeved April 26, 2016 and other then some discomfort when eating a bit too much, things are fine. I followed the recommendations religiously until I felt confident my stomach had healed satisfactorily. Things will turn around for you. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

This is interesting. However, depending on your location I would consider it. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -

Low BMI Gastric Sleeve story
Man With No Answers replied to lady10000000000's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had my sleeve on 4/26, BMI of 35, spent three days in the hospital, passed the swallow test, discharged, and have been recuperating since. Plan on going back to work after a three week hiatus next Monday. Stepped on the scale for the first time this past Friday and was amazed at the weight loss (39 pounds). A fellow "sleever" recommended I weigh myself at the same time once/week. I intend to follow his advice. The pain has been minimal. Trying to walk as much as I can, but get fatigued fairly easily. As my wife told me, "10 days ago you had a major organ removed. Don't you think it will take awhile to fully recover, you idiot?!" LOL I can't say enough about this surgery. My blood work has all come back within normal ranges and I look forward to more positive results as time moves on. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App -
Hey guys - working up the nerve to make the jump and finally schedule my 'sleeve'. Guess my only question is "was it worth it?" Nervous as heck, but not scared. Is this normal to feel this way? Have had other surgeries before and never felt like this. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
