I was low BMI also. I am 5’10 but weighed 265. I fluctuate between 185 and 190 now. Your stomach helps you over rule your brain. I can only share my experience. I also had read about hair loss and decided, in the end, to throw caution to the wind. I can say that I experienced NO hair loss that I could see. The decision to have the sleeve was absolutely the best decision I made in my life. Good luck to you and put your trust in your instincts.

I chose Dr. Corvalo Lopez at Angeles Hospital. It is a teaching hospital and he trained many of the doctors now people are talking about. That's why I selected him. Very good experience. Hang in. I was sleeved April 26, 2016 and other then some discomfort when eating a bit too much, things are fine. I followed the recommendations religiously until I felt confident my stomach had healed satisfactorily. Things will turn around for you. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

I had my sleeve on 4/26, BMI of 35, spent three days in the hospital, passed the swallow test, discharged, and have been recuperating since. Plan on going back to work after a three week hiatus next Monday. Stepped on the scale for the first time this past Friday and was amazed at the weight loss (39 pounds). A fellow "sleever" recommended I weigh myself at the same time once/week. I intend to follow his advice. The pain has been minimal. Trying to walk as much as I can, but get fatigued fairly easily. As my wife told me, "10 days ago you had a major organ removed. Don't you think it will take awhile to fully recover, you idiot?!" LOL I can't say enough about this surgery.
