    Yikes...6 weeks

Had surgery on a Wednesday went back to work on next Monday desk job. I can't imagine how anyone needs any more time off I mean if you're just sitting down at a desk job. I think I would've walked more and been more active honestly if I took time off... Funny truth. Most of my coworkers thought that I had a long weekend away. 4. Get re-sleeved ..... Or at least consider a by-pass don't let your life pass you by and later regret not doing it sooner. I really don't think it's an issue of therapy or nutrition if you would've lost 30 or 40 pounds and got stuck maybe ???but I think it is something more mechanical than that. Something that you don't have as much control over personally. In the beginning the sleeve does do the majority of the work for you so I can't imagine how you couldn't of been more successful, unless it was just a mechanical type issue with the sleeve not being small enough or the hunger hormone not being removed completely. Good luck don't waste anymore time. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  6. 24601, can you give me an idea of what your daily diet looks like now about how many calories you consume and also how much exercise you get in.... Where did you have your surgery? One other question have you experienced hair loss problems yet? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    55% gastric sleeve!?

I was 35-37 BMI dr removed 80-85%.... I would not go thru this for only 50% it's a long life and having to do it again would be worse than losing and extra 10 pounds or something. Obviously my own opinion. I am only two weeks in and it's a great life this past week. If you have already talked to two different DRs it maybe that this is the only route for you in the US. I went to Tijuana awesome experience total of 5 people I know went to same practice. Approx 4k Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Just one week before you both 4/6/2016 and I can't tell you how much a difference a day makes much less a week you're going to be amazed every day how much better you feel. A few days ago were my worst about day six from surgery. I was so sad and thought I was gonna lose my mind. It literally didn't even last 48 hours I'm back to my normal self in fact it's kind of scary how good I feel because I am somewhere in my mind concerned that I should feel worse ....what if I don't lose weight I feel way to "normal" eeeek.. Hungry

Can you eat like egg drop Soup and mix it up? Must it be Strictly broth? Will puréed veggies or puréed potato soup be acceptable? The week will go by fast and if you can make yourself drink you'll see that you're not that hungry. How is your gas and reflux? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. When you do this you're going to wonder why you waited so long. I'm only two weeks out but I have friends and family who are much farther along ...over a year etc and I can tell you that this is absolutely not anything comparable to WW. It is a very big decision it is a huge commitment and change but to compare the two is not appropriate there are two very different things. I don't know what your BMI is but if you have a lower BMI and are not morbidly obese you even have a higher likely success rate ????????????????Good luck with your decision. I'm sick of it

Waaaa today I'm six days from surgery and I feel so sad about this new relationship I'm going to have with food. BMI fluctuated between 36 and 37 so I convince myself that I did not have a huge food addiction. Today is the first day that I realize it was very real and it was definitely an addiction. I know especially after today that I could've never lost this excess weight without the surgery. I can't seem to get even 40 ounces of liquids in I was able to do some Protein about 15 g . Feel sad miss food. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I was told not to take in any Protein /protein shakes for 10 days I noticed several of you started after just a couple days....was this approved by your doctor I'm kind of freaked out about not eating protein for a few more days and want to start today . 13. Call Bill Yanez... His information is earlier on in this thread you really cannot get better care, better attention, more in formation and just overall a better experience by going with him as a coordinator. Plus he does not work with just any TJ Dr. He screens them and keeps up with their records and staffing turnover. He is an American living in TJ as a bariatric coordinator. I was amazed by his responsiveness. Everything done is state-of-the-art you're going to find yourself getting EKGs blood test x-ray examinations swallow and leak test there is just no stone that's left unturned it's incredibly well organized. Efficient, cost-efficient and effective… So much the US can learn from the way they do their surgeries... I just had my surgery done last week. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. So I'm getting prepared for my surgery on April 6. It occurred to me that I've had surgeries and never have had hair loss... I've had extreme weight-loss in terms of dieting and never have experienced hair loss so I'm starting to think that what causes the hair loss with the sleeve and the different gastric surgeries or as people calling on this forum capital W L S… Is the dehydration. It seems pretty consistent in the beginning that most people can't get enough Water. Does anyone else see this type of correlation? I'm trying to think of anything I can in terms of getting the odds on my side regarding hair loss. I just recovered over the last few years from a Hashimoto's diagnosis. Never truly a recovery however learning to live with it and work with it has been what I'm calling a recovery. This is a thyroid disease so my hair is already pretty thin and barely starting to come back. Anyhow I would like the thoughts and opinions of those of you out there who felt that they stayed really hydrated very very well and still had hair loss and for those of you who think that that can indeed see correlation that you've experienced Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
