Hi Kat, This afternoon I had a piece of pizza, no problem. Tonight I had a few bites of fish and have been sooooo sick. Sliming and pain for about an hour. I'm afraid to tell the doctor cause he might not fill as much next time. Did I understand correctly that you also have been having the same problem?

I like to make stuffed peppers using ground turkey, and I make Turkey or chicken Loaf. Don't know the exact measurements, but: 1 lb turkey or chicken ground 1 egg corn flake crumbs usual salt/pepper about 3 T mustard (I like the regular yellow mustard for this) about 3 T ketchup some garlic powder some dried onion mix it all up and bake it like you would a meat loaf. Hi Rain, the pork chops sound good, but I made pork chops Sunday in sauce in the slow cooker and really got sick. I think they stuck even though I took small bites. Got the slimy thing. I have them in the fridge but am afraid to eat them. -
sdesir, that's very good advice (to start from the beginning, i.e. protein shakes, broth, jello, etc for a few days.) I'm going to have to do the same thing. I slimed and threw up (sorry guys) yesterday and today. Just awful. Thank God I was home and not at work. The pain, as some of you must know, is excrutiating. It happened yesterday on pot roast...small bites, juicy...today on pork cooked in sauce til it fell off the bone. Again, small bites, etc. Now, there have been times I've eaten steak and other things with no problem. But the last two days I've been feeling like a bulimic. Funny thing is that when it's coming out I'm thinking, "Oh Goody, that's less calories." SICKO. Got my band in October, have lost 40 pounds and this is the first time this has happened. I'm glad I read these posts today because I will get off solids for today and tomorrow.

Good luck Lattedah. The worst part of my surgery was being thirsty the next day and those pesky nurses who wouldn't let me sleep, lol. Otherwise it was a piece of cake ...Oops, sorry! It is so worth it! Tell us all about your experience when you are back home.

Wow, sorry you had to go through that. I am an insurance adjuster, so I'd sue, lol......Seriously I agree w. The Ghost, but you'll need an attorney to get that from her. Meanwhile, take care of yourself. Find a good surgeon and get it done. I would think another surgeon would accept the preliminaries you had to go through. I wouldn't let her near me with or without a scalpal.

I grew up 10 miles outside of NYC and would take the bus into the City to see Broadway shows. Now I will be showing my age, but here goes, saw Paul Newman in Sweet Bird of Youth. Sat in the rear but could still see his blue eyes. Saw the original cast of Camelot, Richard Burton, Robert Goulet (oh GORGEOUS), Julie Andrew and Roddy McDowell, Caberet, the Wiz which was awesome. Saw tons more and loved everyone. Of course most of them I saw when they were affordable. Then I moved out of the area but recently returned. My favorites since I've been back to NJ were Bring on the Noise, Bring on the Funk and I saw Brian Dennehy in Death of a Salesman. Another (oh GORGEOUS, but can use a lap band, lol.) I want to see Jersey Boys as a birthday present to myself. I saw some good road shows while living in Alaska and Puerto Rico, i.e. Chorus Line and Man of La Mancha.....I'm so happy I grew up where I did. Now that I'm losing weight I plan to spend lots more time in NY, walking around, enjoying museums and sitting in the tiny theater seats, lol.

I'm Looking for a doctor in NJ
Patriciann replied to lljpaisley's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi, I live down the shore as well. I had my surgery in Montclair's Mountainside Hospital in October 2007 by Dr. Karl Strom. He and his associates and office are TERRIFIC. They have great monthly meetings, a terrific dietitian and Dr. Strom has done tons of bariatric surgery (no pun intended.) I highly recommend him. Please e mail me if you need more info. I'm at exit 80 (only Jersey people understand that, lol. It's secret code.) -
 I would have it again in a nanosecond. I have lost 40 pounds in 4 months. I don't snore anymore, my hip stopped hurting, I have no more acid reflux, I don't feel like I need to go to sleep at 7 pm. I want to lose 50 more then I'll be queen of the world, lol. Not a moment's pain. If I could have lost it over all these years just by "dieting" I'd have been a skinny person. I would not suggest gastric bypass unless someone is so obese that they are close to dying. I have to bite my tongue from recommending lap band every time I see an overweight person. You need to do what feels right for you, not your family or friends. Only you know what you've suffered to get to the point of considering the procedure. :tt1:

You are so right Paul. I eat and drink whatever I want but so much less than before the procedure.

Drinking With the Band!
Patriciann replied to jamedeere's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's cute! No, it won't kill you to have a few drinks....Just make sure you count those calories. The trouble with liquor is your willpower decreases and you might overeat as a result. -

I had my surgery about 80 miles from my home. It is a 1 1/2 hour one way drive. (Don't tell anyone but I drove myself home from the hospital the day I was released.) I visit the doctor for fills and in all I get up there about once monthly for "band business". I have no problem with it. I believe unless your doc has another office close to where you live, you are stuck with the commute. I would doubt that another doctor would want to take on someone elses' patient for post op.
