  5. I would check with your surgeon but I agree. It seemed to take longer than I would have thought to feel "back to normal" with no pain. I'm almost 7 weeks post op and I think it was about week 5 or so that I felt like I had no pain around my incision to the right of my belly button. Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

I am just finishing my purée stage and I start my soft food phase on Tuesday and my packet doesn't have a lot of info about what that means. I know that my doc does not want me eating meat until the next phase in 2 weeks. What were your favorites on the soft food stage? I would love some ideas!!! Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

Puréed stage in less than 7 days

I talked to my doc about starting early because I was feeling great and ready for purée, but my doc said it isn't about how great you feel it's about letting your stomach heal. I would suggest talking to your doc before moving to the next stage early. I was on liquids for 4 weeks and it's hard but it makes the purée stage that much better!!! Good luck Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal
  9. I eat about 3-4oz but generally until I feel satisfied. I had eaten about 2oz when it got stuck Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

    Liquid Diet HELP

Oh and drink and track your Water. If I focus more on tracking my water, Proteins, Vitamins, etc it helps to distract as well. I was drinking 100oz of water per day and it really helped! Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

    Liquid Diet HELP

You can do this!!! I was off/on clear liquid for 7 months prior to my surgery. Believe me I was not perfect. I'm not going to lie I ate a lot of Popsicles haha which helped with my sugar cravings. If you don't let yourself get hungry it makes it easier. So drink as many Proteins as you can and I think eating broth like Soup rather than drinking it helped me feel like I'm eating. If you get the munchies I would just get up and find some thing to do. My friend told me to do planks. I didn't do them very well but I actually really liked that advice because it was usually late and I didn't want to do a full workout but it was better than just sitting on the couch thinking about food. I also got on here and read posts and discussions which was really helpful and motivating. Good luck!!! You've got this!!! Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal
  14. I just started my purée stage 2 days ago and doing great!! Thanks for all the ideas above. I've done yogurt, cheddar broccoli soup, and I made pinto Beans and pureed them rather than doing canned. Tonight I made cauliflower but it got stuck. It felt like it was just sitting in my throat so I'm thinking no more cauliflower for me has anyone else experienced this? Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

Positive - I totally understand. I was on a liquid diet for 4 weeks after surgery so I JUST started my purée stage 2 days ago. My last week of pure liquid I gagged very time I drank Protein. I was doing a cold chocolate shake. I moved to do a hot protein which really helped. Now I am doing lemon tea and out a splash of mango juice in it (not sure if I'm supposed to but it helps me get my protein down) and use ice to make it as cold as possible. I'm actually enjoying this kind of protein! My doc expects that I drink 3 Proteins a day for the rest of my life so I will definitely have to change up my protein quite frequently I'm sure. My doc said it is super normal to start HATING protein since that's all we've been drinking. What stage of food are you on? Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal
