I think I am going home tomorrow (fri) but i dont think the missus wants me back to sat lol. I feel abit better each day. Like you i dont feel hungry when i see food. It also takes me along time to sip even 100ml of Fluid. I still get some prangs of pain or nausea but for the most part im traveling ok. Good to hear you are already out and at home. What have they given you for pain relief and also reflux. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App

Yeah im not big on swallowing anything at the moment even little sips can make me feel nauseous. They give me a little sponge on a stick bout the size of a toothbrush and i dunk it in Water and rub it over my lips, tongue and teeth its quite a treat. So we are over the worse I must admit the surgery process went better than i expected. Theres alot to be said about fear of the unknown. So its all downhill from gere lol.???????????? 11. Jmc. I am ten hours post surgery and i have to say it all went better than i expected. Im a big wuss when it comes to needles etc but the process was prompt and professional. I am relatively painfree as in its not like a toothache or headache, just abit sore when i swallow. So dont be discouraged from going ahead but alsomake sure you are committed and happy to ahead. For me im looking for increased life expectancy and more participation in life. Im happy with the sleeve asva choice as i can always have a full blown bypass but this was the first stage of a bypass that they then realised alot of people disnt need to go further. Its also a quicker and less risky operation. Goodluck with your decision. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App

Yeah im looking forward to getting it over and done with. Ive lost about 5kgs so far i think. Hopefully the eye clears and doesn't stop you as having got this far it would be disappointing to have to start again. Fingers crossed. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App
  16. Im still in preop stage and Ive told everyone, heck I even put it on fb lol. I dont want to have to keep explaining myself. To the knockers I tell them it is a genetic related disease and its because of this same reason that skinny people with high metabolisms who eat lots of junk food cant put weight on. Ive yet to find someone come back with an answer to that. As for the lifestyle changes jmc534 maybe you will just have to get yourself a little glass for all the beer tasting. Apparently you wont need as much to enjoy yourself. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App

    You're Cheating

I tell them my weight is a result of genetics and I have a genetic disposition to putting on weight. Im often told that it's a result of not managing what I eat and I tell them if thats the case why dont skinny people with fast metabolisms who eat worse than me put ON weight. No one has answered that for me. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App

  22. Hi Ben Im a kiwi living in melbourne and I am due fir a gastric sleeve op this coming Tuesday. I only have had to go thru a 2 week liquid diet b4 the op and its challenging but doable. I am 48yo, 5ft 11in and and also around 360lbs. Although I haven't been like this all my life and have only really put it on over the past 5+ years. Happy to share my experiences as I go, you will find i post abit under the melbourne/australia parts in both the gastric sleeve and chat sections if the forum. Yes Shell I have the support of my partner and family back in NZ. So I am lucky in that respect. Also most of my friends are aware and again most feedback has been supportive. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App

Expect stalls after surgery from time to time and that you will still have to monitor your food intake. But a lot of people seem able to add a few replacement shakes in and get back on track quite quickly. Also weekly weightings are better I think. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App

Shell, yes im alittle nervous but in the other side I cant wait to get it done and start the recovery process. Im trying to look at it as an 8 week program I have to complete. Hopefully you have people around you to support you. Are you having keyhole surgery? It makes the process awhole lot safer. Try to keep thinking of where you will be in 6-8 months time. The clothes you will be able to look at and buy. The activites you will be able to participate in. The 10+ years longer in life expectancy this little op is likely to give you. But yeah you wouldnt be human not to be alittle nervous, its a good thing we get to sleep thru it lol. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App
