I also look to eat the meat first, followed by greens and other vegs. Have gone right off potatoes. For a small meal I mix greek yogurt with mixed berries and a touch of honey. I love Water more now then b4 especially if its cold and I im not as keen on carbonated drinks as i used to be. The only problem is having to take smaller sips and not being able to drink after eating. I still find my appetite fluxuates between not feeling too hungry to wanting to eat small amounts every couple of hours and feeling hungry again not long after. Will I ever settle into this new world. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

Sorry to hear you have been doing it tough Demon. I was starting to wonder where you were. Hoping you are on the mend and I wouldnt worry about what you eat as it doesnt sound like it has been very much anyway. But it must be hard trying to deal with two different issues at the same time. Its too early for me to say what permanent changes my taste buds have suffered. But I seem to have gone off bread and fats which I used to love ie bacon. But it may just be temporary. If you need to have milk can you have it in a Protein shake? Anyway here's to a better week. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

So how's everyone doing. Finished my first week at work and they didnt spare me in any way, which was good as I got to see how I am going. I am moving easier and have lost quite abit off my butt and legs and some off of my stomach. Slowly getting my head around its better to eat a little less than a little more. Think my weight loss has slowed right up, not in a stall but to a more realistic and stable ongoing basis. Hope everyone else is equally well. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

I think the weight takes too long to come off but doesnt go back on as fast as people like to say also. I think I just have to be patient and see where i am at xmas. It is going to take a bit of time to get used to this new life. Why couldn't they have taken the weight away whilst they were operating on us lol. I think starting to exercise will be crucial. Do you find you are hungry at all. I think my relationship with food is going to change for ever and that probably needed to happen but its still challenging. I go from feeling like I cant eat enough to not feeling like eating. And I will never ve able as they say to eat to my hearts content again. Also Im impatient to get the weight off as well. Haaa its hard to please some people lol. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

Def it has its ups and downs. The main thing is to keep an eye on sugars and carbohydrates. I had one slice of pork with a small piece of potato and pumpkin for dinner. Plus I had one piece of toast for Breakfast so being at work is drumming up my appetite. My gp said to watch against cheating and by this I mean eating every two hours. Wow was I tired and sore today. Its amazing how much conditioning you lose when you are largely inactive for 5 weeks. Was abit disappointing too as the infinitely more accurate scales at work show that I have lost 18 kgs so far. But I got alot of supporting comments as well which is nice. What is a slider that you talk about. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

Hows everyone going. Good i hope. My last day of freedom and back to work tomorrow. It will probably do me good to get some structure back in my life lol. I cant wait to get on some proper scales because dependant on how accurate the ones I have been on means Im close to having lost around 20-22kgs so far which is great. Also almost 8cms down in pants size. The good thing is I actually kept alot of old clothes when I was putting on weight so i still have them to wear, but also I kept some really nice shirts etc that were brought for me as presents etc that didnt fit that still have the tags on them so I am keen to get to wear them as well. I still occasionally either eat too fast or overeat which causes some discomfort, but for the most part I am learning to eat little and slow. I have found I also need to guard against eating junk food which seems to digest quicker than most food and allow you to eat more. But all in all it could be worse. I know as my weight loss slows down it will test my patience but now that I am going back to work and looking to push things along by starting to introduce regimented exercise into my routines. -

Im learning as I go Shell. Its funny I walk past restaurants and can remember all the smells but I not hungry - I hope I havent lost interest in food. Being on holiday my food intake is down but my beer is up lol. Think I need to switch to red wine maybe. I am learning to manage my intake though so im not restricted or sick. My taste for certain foods is changing too but its too early to say if thats permanent or not. I did have a sad day walking past some street sellers realising that I could never order a suvalaki again without someone else in fact theres not alot of little food for people like us. Yes i managed to weight myself and have only lost one and a bit kilos in two weeks so the missus wont be happy when i get home. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

Trips going great but its hard to try different food when you are by yourself as I cant finish anything. The funny thing is I used to finish my partners plate and now we just share one. I overjudged my dinner tonight which left me with some discomfort and I had to throw up abit of it. I think I need to count how many bites I can have and then start counting them. Dont know what a 36 looks like but my surgeon reckons its the best size. Too many problems with the 32 and I respect his opinion as hes one off if not the most experienced surgeons in Melbourne with almost 700 operations. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

I find I can eat more some days then others and I dont know why and then other days I can hardly get a few mouthfuls in. A brother of mine back in NZ has mentioned that program called the 'big ward' if it's the same one. I wish I could have seen it b4 the op. Although I have no regrets and still believe that this will be one of the best things I have ever done. I bet if you put on a plate what you used to eat next to what you are eating now you would be amazed. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

Its quite interesting we have all had the same operation but we have different diet timeframes and some of us had staples instead of glue, but I guess we have all ended up with the same result. Do you guys know what size your stomach pounch was shaped to. Mine is a 36cu, I think 50, 40 and 32 are some of the other sizes that can be used. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -

It might seem slow now Shell but we have to give it the time it deserves. Lets see where are in six months. But I understand although as I dont have scales that can weight me I am in the dark as too my weight lost and so dont really worry about it, believing it will come off in due course. If you are getting pains in your chest check to see if you think its when your stomach is filling up or if you are eating too fast. If not that then take smaller bites maybe. I notice a sudden fullness or restriction when Im full and if I am eating too quickly I can go past the full stage when I still gave food going down which can be abit uncomfortable but pain is something I would be refering to your surgeon ir nurse. I have always been a foodie and loved cooking so it will be interesting if I can or still have the same passion/interest with my restricted diet now as I used to have. Yippee back to solid foods. Where to start. Im on a 9 day road trip starting yesterday so I have brought alot of shakes and dietary Snacks (ultraslim bars and biscuits) with me to cover any missed meals. Haha the purpose of the trip visit all the gourmet smokehouses between Melbourne and the Hunter Valley - smoking food is one of my pastimes bacon, salmon etc. Having the ability to select from a range of foods is going to be exciting especially different textures. But its not like i can eat much. My partner and I couldn't eat one main meal between us - she ate the most by far and I couldn't eat one piece of toast for Breakfast. Im itching to get on some scales as I have weighted myself for a couple of weeks. Sent from my SM-G900I using the BariatricPal App -
