Unbridled

My story is not different than most and surely just as boring.
 
I was super active all my life, but a real athlete in high school and college. Got married. Had a couple kids. Never even looked at at any kind of exercise after the boys were born. Someone should have thunked me in the forehead and said, "Look at your family history of hugeness and illness!"  Maybe they did. I didn't listen, because here I am; 270lbs and nearing 60 years old. 
 
Diagnosed with pre-diabetes about 8 years ago... We all know where that leads, but figured... NOT ME, won't happen. <waddadope>  So currently I'm not full blown diabetic, but sliding down that hill fast. My BP has never ever been high, even through pregnancy... one blessing for sure!
 
Just like everyone, I've tried all the diets. Each time promising to be better, stronger, not get frustrated.  Dietitians and counseling... oh the money I've spent trying to get this weight off. 
 
My bucket list is longer than I am tall, but for now, I just want to put on my clothes without being breathless.  The bra?  Wrestling for 10 minutes to get the things in place?  They are so big they have separate zip codes.
 
I digress.
 
My bucket list... we all have one or we should. It keeps us hopeful. 
 
Yesterday I received my approval letter.  The gastric sleeve surgery is scheduled for August 30th. I don't think I slept more than 2 hours last night. Mixed emotions about it all... blah blah blah.
 
In the end, I am on my knees to my Heavenly Father and his legions of worn out Angels.  Thank you all for your provisions, for protecting me, for guiding me, and mostly for loving me. I'm completely unworthy of it all.
