Its becoming harder to get food/drink down
Reena 4/05/16 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm four weeks out. I've been trying to decrease my reliance on Protein drinks and increase soft food intake. But now it is becoming harder to get anything down. two weeks ago, I could easily drink a Protein Drink. Now it seems to sit in my chest after every sip. So now I'm having trouble getting in all my Water and protein. I would have thought that this would go the other way around as I heal. Could I be experiencing blockage or will this also pass with time. Also with this change has come greatly reduced energy and a stall in weight loss. Any thoughts?- 4 replies

I've been using a CPAP for 10 years. I don't even attempt to sleep without it at all anymore. I was hooked on it immediately. I've tried every kind of mask, multiple machines and other attachments to find out what works best for me. Its been an investment for sure but I've always looked at the expense as an investment in me. To keep me healthier and frankly to keep me alive. I'm a self-pay sleever and have looked at this expense the same way. I'm really hoping that with the weight loss that my pressure will decrease or even alleviate the apnea.

Any one else having surgery today?

I'm April 5. Its been so much easier than I had feared. Trying to transition to soft food. That's a little hard. I'm trying to learn how to navigate this site too. I find it a little hard to get back to the forums that I respond to. I'm curious how we early April Sleevers progress too. Good luck everybody. -

April 5 Operation - Trying to transition to soft food
Reena 4/05/16 replied to Reena 4/05/16's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm fine now. In fact I was fine the next morning. I realized that I had eaten entirely too fast and too much. I was doing the morning rush with the kids. Lesson learned. Taking things slower now. Thanks for the support. -
I had mine on April 5, so I'm 16 days out. I've been trying to transition to soft food but I'm still almost entirely Protein drinks, yogurt and cottage cheese. I tried scrambled eats and they ruined me for the day. I ate way too fast and too much. I was rushing out the door with the kids and had to turn around...it was horrible. But I did learn an important lesson about eating too fast and too much. I've eating a few pieces of stir fried chicken. Last night I had one little piece of stir fried beef. I've also had a few deli sliced of roasted chicken. I still have a bottleneck feeling going on when I eat and drink. But I feel great. No hunger problems and no cravings. How are you doing with food?

April 5 Operation - Trying to transition to soft food
Reena 4/05/16 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my operation two weeks ago. I've felt awesome since the 3rd day. I'm trying to transition to soft food. Now I feel like the food can't go down. Even my Protein drinks are going down very slowly. I threw up for the first time this morning after eating a scrambled egg. I haven't been able to finish even one Protein Drink since I recovered from the egg episode, which took a few hours to feel well enough to head into the office. It feels like I'm swallowing a baseball now. I'm assuming this will pass as I learn how to eat but I'm curious how you all handled this transition and if my new issue is common or even normal.- 12 replies
