  1. I know here are a ton of posts on here about the dreaded stall... but I'm 2 weeks post op and haven't lost an ounce in a week! I've been prepared for stalls, but at 1 week? I'm in shock!! Has anyone else experienced this? (Pre-op I lost 15 lbs, the first week post op I lost 8lbs, I'm 240 now) Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

    100lbs before and after

Wow!! All of you are so inspirational! Amazing!! I started this thread when I was still thinking about having surgery, no I'm 12 days post op and 25 lbs down altogether. I am looking forward to being able to post my picture here. Thank you so much for sharing your transformations. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  5. I'd love to see any before and after pictures of people who have lost around 100lbs, give or take. I can't even picture myself down 100lbs. I could use the motivation as my surgery date approaches. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

    Still feeling no restriction

Wondering if you are able to have more restriction now. I'm 1 week out and feel no restriction at all. I am very concerned! I'm still on mushy food, but I have yet to feel full. I can also drink a lot and fast without any problems. I discovered this because I absentmindedly chugged about 9oz of watered had no problem aside from my stomach "talking to me." 7. I had surgery yesterday, and have been able to drink 4oz at a time. Sipping of course. But I can finish it within 5-10 mins. Am I at risk for stretching my new pouch? I had 40oz of liquids altogether today (including broth and Protein drinks), but only 150 calories. I feel really, really full, but don't feel sick or like I'm going to throw up. Do you think 4oz at one meal is too much? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

1 day post-op... am I drinking too much?

I'm supposed to have 64oz of Water a day and 60 grams of Protein. He said that he doesn't expect me to meet these goals right away though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    100lbs before and after

Wow!!!! Thank you so much for sharing, everyone!!! My surgery is next Thursday (9 more days!! Eek). I have 99 lbs to go to get to my surgeon's goal, (I've lost 11lbs pre surgery). Everyone looks so awesome... How has your skin handled the loss? I'm a little worried about how my skin will adjust. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  10. I'm 7 weeks pre op and have been doing really well with 1200 calories, chewing slowly, small portions, and exercise. I've even lost 10 lbs, (the amount required of me). Today, however, I was hungry aaaallllll day and my healthy food and small portions weren't cutting it. I ate A LOT of food from McDonalds and feel sick and guilty . Now I'm second guessing if I should get the surgery. What if I do this to myself after the surgery? What if I don't have the will power? On the other hand, I didn't eat much in the morning, and that could be why I went a bit crazy... I don't know. I will be having the psychological exam, and will definitely talk about this. Has this happened to anyone else? Is so, did you have success after the sleeve? I'd be interested to see what post-op sleevers think. Thanks, Feeling guilty

    I had a binge :(

Thanks for the support, everyone. I got back on track the following day and am feeling better now. I definitely didn't drink enough Water that day, and I didn't eat enough early in the day, AND it was that time of the month, so I think all of those factors contributed to the binge. I really want to be successful and have the surgery. It is going to take time to erase old behaviors, but I think I can do it. Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

    Random Questions

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone that has had the surgery and posts here. It has been so helpful and cemented my commitment to getting the gastric sleeve. My surgery date is April 7th! Eek! Anyway, I have a bunch of random questions, and I'd appreciate your help! 1. For those of you who are married, or in a serious relationship, how did the surgery effect your relationship. (I am married to an amazing man who supports me 100%, but I worry how our relationship will change as I change) 2. Did you tell your work, friends and family? If not, how do you explain your diet and weight loss? (I am only telling my husband and two close friends. I am telling everyone else I got my gallbladder out) 3. Do you have very saggy skin? (I'm 264 lbs, 5'6, 44 DDD and 31 yrs old. I am super nervous about my stomach and breasts. The nurse told me many people regret having the surgery because their skin is so saggy) 4. How much hair did you lose? (It seems so vain, but I have super thin hair as it is and I don't want to be bald! I've already started Vitamins, including Biotin, and I will start using Aveda thinning hair treatment after surgery. 5. For those of you who have active jobs, how was returning to work? (I am a first grade teacher and am planning on returning to work 11 days after surgery.) 6. What is the worst part of the recovery process? What is the best part of having the surgery? I have a ton more questions, but I'll wave it at this for now!! Thank you so much! Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal

    Sleep eating on Ambien

My dad does this regularly, (no ambien involved). We tied a little string with a bell at the bottom of the doorway to the bedroom, that way if he gets up when he's sleeping it jolts him awake. No joke! Lol! However, if you're up and about in your sleep, you might want to stop the ambien! Sent from my iPhone using BariatricPal
  15. What do you suggest I bring to the hospital for my surgery? Staying 1-2 nights. How did you stay busy during your recovery? I don't know what I'm going to do! I got a mandala coloring book Sent from my iPad using BariatricPal
  16. Thank you! How did you keep busy at home while recovering? Ima pretty active person and know I'm going to have to keep my hands/brain busy!
