I have not been banded yet,but would kill to lose 3.5 pnds a week! One reason I opted for lapband instead of other bariatric surgury was because of the slower, safer weight loss.Sounds like your doing it the right way.Good for you! Can't wait to join you! Sonjia -
Hey Guys! I suppose everyone allready knows this, but I just discovered it for myself and wanted to share.I just buy the chocolate powdered protien from Walmart, but I suppose any would do.In your cup of coffee put a serving of protien powder,1 pkg. splenda and powdered creamer to taste...Soooooooooo delicous!!!Packs 20 grams protien and miniscule carbs. Also the powder disolves much easier in hot liquid than cold.I don't think this is appropriate for clear phase, but maybe for phase two.(Maybe some oldtimers can let us know.)I still have to have my endoscopy then my band.Whoo-hoo!I stopped the soda addiction months ago in anticipation of my band,so am very proud of myself for that.Never thought I could do it,so I wanted to be sure befor surgery.Keep up the good work all...you're such an encouragement for us newbies!!!

I'm seeing Dr. Margo in Deer River,Mn.He was trained by Dr. Horgan in Chicago, who was in on the ground floor of lapband in this country so I feel secure in his care.He requires alot of pretests...colonoscopy,manometry,esophageal endoscopy, psych report, etc.Has anyone else had this experience?I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere on the boards.I'm about in the middle of completing these procedures. Thanks,Sonjia

This is probable a stupid question, but can anyone give me any idea if after a 60 pnd weight loss, tummy tuck would be needed? From what I understand lapband weight loss is relativly slow so I'm hopeing not to need it.I'm 51,so that might be a factor. My goal is 160 or so.I'm 5'2. Thanks,Guys!

Hey you two!Renee,I did get your message but am still figuring out the board,so here I finally am.No,I don't think Deer River has changed much.It is still very tiny, but does have a very nice little hospital.Quite a bit of the facility is new.Dr. Margo is a surgeon in neardy Grand Rapids.I'm about 2 hrs from there so I don't really know anyone there.Gotta go.Will write more later.I only have one test left and I'm good to go!!!!!!!
