Amos

Well I had my first fill yesterday. 1.5cc's. so before the fill I was able to eat alot.( and so was my hubby. he had 2.0 cc's filled yesterday for his first fill.) I am hoping that having the first fill changes that. I have lost some weight though. I am able to fit into a pair of jeans that I've had in the closet for three years "just in case'. I used to be able to wear them three years ago and now that I can fit back into them I am so happy! It is just a small victory in this battle against the bulge, but I'll take what ever I can get! Every little bit counts right???

i am in need of some soft diet help.i am getting tired of the soft diet. so if anyone has any soft diet ideas they want to share please bring them on! also i am wondering if we can have bread during the soft diet. you know things like muffins or toast or even pancakes. just something else to add the diet to help get thru the day. thanks for all the help in advance! i asked me DR today before he banded my hubby if i could have meet now and he said YES!!!! yeah! he just said to go slow and take small bites. so now i won't have many soft diet woes.thanks every one for your support! Amos

ok. i am worried that my band has slipped or something. how much food are we supposed to be able to eat at one setting? i just had half a bowl of veggie Soup. that is way more than i figured i would be able to eat. is this normal? i have been eating ALOT more than i thought i would be able since being banded. i am going to speak with my DR on friday but until then i thought i would consult with you guys. i was told by my DR.s office that we couldn't have meat (unless it was fish) for five weeks after the surgery. that is what is the hardest on me, i do not like fish. so i am basically a vegetarian for right now and i'm going bonkers!!!! is it ok to eat meat if it is soft or chopped up then? that would solve alot of me troubles!

see that is the t hing before the lapband i hardly ever ate bread and now i am thinking man if i could just have some toast!! or some muffins that would be great. i am just running out of ideas for soft foods. thank goodness i only have a couple of more weeks and then i'll be done with the soft foods diet! i have had some mac n cheese and some other Pasta noodles because they are soft but i don't want to do to many heavy carbs. i could do some boiled eggs, buti think i'll devil first before eating them. hehe. thanks everyone for your support. I was banded on the first of the month and i am on the "soft diet" now and i am wondering if anyone has any food ideas that they would like to share with me for this diet. i am also wondering if we can have bread during the soft diet stages, something like muffins or toast. i appreciate all your help. i just got banded this past Tuesday! i guess i am having some anxiety issues because i am afraid i won't lose any weight. i am hungry every two -three hours, is this normal? and i am already getting tired of the soft diet! haha! and i am wondering after being banded do we have to totally cut out all fats and sugars? i mean we can still have fats and sugars in moderation correct? i hope you guys can answer my questions.

our diet after surgery goes likethis:for the first 24-48 hours all liquid diest. then after that for 2-4 weeks soft foods diet and then 3 meals a day. so it is ok i am following DR.s order for the diet. thank you for your suggestions and your answers the yhave helped me alot! Amos

i was banded by Dr. Spivak this last tuesday on november first. my hubby will be banded by Dr. Spivak on friday november 11. Dr. Spivak's office is great for support. if you a hve any questions at all do not hesitate to call. i had a question after hours the day after my surgery and i called the answering service and one minute later Sr. Spivak called me back and gave me the answers to my questions. good luck to you on your surgery. i just got banded november 1st. i was scared and nervous too. now i am just waiting to see the results. i still ahve alittle pain but it is nothing really, i have hardly even used my pain meds!1 good luck to you!
