Did you drink too fast? I had that problem a couple times when I drank protein too quickly, even though it didn't feel quick. I guess my tummy wasn't ready for that much yet and I threw it up. I immediately felt better, so if you feel you should let it come up don't fight it.

I'm officially down 50 pounds from when I started this journey!! I was put on a 1200 calorie diet when my primary told me to think about surgery, that was last August. I followed that pretty well losing 20 pounds. It would have been more but I slacked off during the holidays and right before I started my pre-op diet, which is fine with me because I baked new foods and enjoyed every minute of it. Then I lost 10 on the being on the pre-op diet and now since surgery I'm down 20! My highest weight was 285, my surgery weight was 255 and my current weight is 235. I cried tears of joy for a good 10 minutes. This is so surreal. I cannot remember being this weight and I'm only 22. I am so happy I chose to do this. I cannot wait to see what my future will be like. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

Do I tell people I'm having surgery or keep it a secret? Advice greatly received!
ohhsosweetxvb replied to inkie's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I didn't even have to tell my family, my mom did that for me, she was excited for me. -.- I hated it because I wanted my family to think I didn't it on my own but whatever. They're all supportive of my decision. My close friends and close coworkers know. So far everyone supports me and it feels good. -

Early weight loss stall
ohhsosweetxvb replied to thinatheart13's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're not crazy. I lost the first week and then nothing for the next 3, I hopped on the scale today and I had finally went down! Everyone loses at different paces. As long as you're doing everything right, getting your protein, water and vitamins in you should be good. Don't stress over the scale, you will lose weight! -
Constipation

The constipation problem broke! For about a week now I have gone everyday! I'm hoping it persists! Good luck everyone else! -
Today was my 3rd follow up appointment with my surgeon. I told them I was disappointed that I lost 10 pounds the first week after surgery and then nothing the next 3. They reassured me that it's normal, that everyones body is different and some will lose from the beginning and others(probably me) will start losing a couple months afterwards. They told me my metabolism might have to catch up. I just have to focus on what I'm putting into my body and how I feel and not what the scale says. It is definitely going to be a struggle.

Reassurance

I'm having non scale victories too. I feel and look better in my clothes. I am sittng on the floor at work right now up against a wall and my knee can practically touch my chest without a struggle. It's a bit easier to go up stairs. -

My scale hasn't moved since week 2. I'm a month out. The first week I lost 10 pounds and then I've stalled. It sucks. I'm hoping now that I'm back to work and have a routine it'll move.

Mushies.....2 excited.....uh oh
ohhsosweetxvb replied to Fluffy779's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It was probably the sausage. Did you puree it or eat it whole? At 14 days our I was still on a liquid diet, the next weeks I was able to move on to a pureed stage, which included soft boiled or poached eggs. But other that that no solids. -

Constipation
ohhsosweetxvb replied to ohhsosweetxvb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Right after I posted this I had some movement. Maybe now that I'm able to eat now I'll be able to poop more. Hopefully my body will catch up. Thank you all for your suggestions. If it persists I'll try something. ???? -

I had to be on the liquid diet for 2 weeks ???? are you on full liquids? I was able to have yogurt on the full liquids and that helped. Also, are you on a PPI? The hunger feeling could really be reflux. I'm experiencing it and my doctor swears it's not reflux because I'm on 40 mg of omeprazole but thats a low dose, I really think it's reflux for me. -

Do you think I should add another shake?
ohhsosweetxvb replied to songsmith's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try to get your daily protein in, to me it doesn't matter if it's in food form or shake form. If you feel that you need more protein, then by all means, drink another shake. -
I know this is minor, but its super annoying. I get the hiccups so easily now! How common is this? Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

Feeling miserable
ohhsosweetxvb replied to mfregoso's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's just cruel, they should at least respect that you don't want to watch them eat. I always stay in my room when my boyfriend and roommate eat. But just remember why you're in this journey. Remember you don't need that food. -
I do stop eating if I get the hiccups, I'm only on the pureed stage so chewing isn't really an option for me, but I do eat slowly and take small bites. I already get that feeling of being satisfied.

True, I'd rather hiccups over heartburn any day!

Anyone with strict protein only diet?
ohhsosweetxvb replied to losinglily's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel like you need certain nutrients from fruits and vegetables that protein only cannot provide for you. Is he having you take a crazy amount of vitamins?
