Ohhh how exciting! You're one of the first surgeries of the day. I was in the afternoon. It's gonna be a little rough but do not hesitate to ask for pain meds, especially when you start walking! Good luck! This is going to be a great experience ????

    Vitamin Help Please :)

As silly as this sounds, my doctor said I could take Flintstone vitamins, the ones with iron though. They might taste better because they're for kids. I'm currently taking centrum chewables, orange flavor. They're okay, bareable lol

    My Very Own Experience

I also had a 3 week low carb diet and 1 liquid diet boy it was hard but I am glad surgery is tomorrow for me and I am glad you are feeling like this was an awesome choice I actually go to pre register today I haven't felt nervous today but I feel so so close now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Best of luck tomorrow! And good luck getting liquids in afterwards. It's going to be hard but you don't wanna get dehydrated, I'm still struggling to get enough Water and protein in. I've also gotten sick a couple times from drinking shakes too quick, even though it didn't feel quick. Just take things slow and sip all day! ????

    My Very Own Experience

Close to mine! I'm 22, my HW was 285, starting pre-op diet weight was 269, surgery day was 252, and today I'm 242. I know a lot of people's pre-op diets are different, mine was 3 weeks prior to surgery, 2 Protein shakes as Meal Replacements and 1 real meal which could consist of 6 oz of meat with veggies. Snacks could be between an apple, orange or a pear. That diet made me loose so much before my surgery. My surgery was 2/8 I'm 2 weeks post op and not regretting anything. This liquid diet is hard though
  12. I'm only allowed to walk.

How Much Stomach is Taken Out?

I've read that this could be reflux, try taking an anti acid and see if that works. Sent from my SM-G900P using the BariatricPal App

How Much Stomach is Taken Out?

A lot of it is pretty much relearning how to eat. That's why they want you to not drink anything 30 minutes before and after a meal, to chew your food really well and to make a meal last 20-30 minutes. It takes time for your stomach to send the full feeling to your brain. Also make sure you eat the right foods and drink enough water throughout the day. That will help you feel full too. How Much Stomach is Taken Out?

Your doctor knows what they are doing. Maybe you have a smaller stomach than most patients because you're a bit smaller than the usual. Here in New York you wouldn't even be eligible unless you had a BMI of 40. So 70% is what is best for you. 30% of a stomach is still small and they are taking out the part of the stomach that produces the hunger hormone. You will be okay, have faith in your sleeve. 16. So I'm 10 days post op and I'm feeling super hungry. I'm allowed clear liquids and full liquids which also include strained cream soups, pudding, and yogurt. The only food that fills me up is greek yogurt but it has to be plain. I can't eat plain so I decided to get vanilla which isn't my favorite and honestly my palette is kinda sick of sweet foods. Soup is okay but not filling at all, so today I decided to try Progressos light potato and bacon without being strained. I chewed each piece up really good and gave it time to go down. I feel fine and satisfied for once. My boyfriend yelled at me saying I should stick to what my doctors say. Opinions/experiences? Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal

    Walking hurts for how long?

It's been freezing here in New York so for the first few days my mom would drive to a store and we would walk around for a half hour. I wish my tiny apartment was big enough to walk around in. Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal

  20. This makes me so mad, your doctor should be encouraging you to wanna do this, clearly if you're willing to have surgery you're willing to make changes. Afterall you pretty much are relearning how to eat. Certain foods are going to destroy your stomach and you won't wanna go near that food again. Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal

    Walking hurts for how long?

The first day is the worst. I was so grumpy when they made me walk but it really helps with the gas pain. And once the anesthesia wears off you'll be peeing like crazy Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal

Soup at 10 days post op

So my doctor doesn't think its reflux because I am taking omeprazole, but he said I can take tums. So I'm feeling hungry right now. I'm gonna eat and see how I feel and if I feel hungry after I eat I'm going to try a tums. Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal

    Vitamins. Gummies, chewables, other?

My Vitamins must be chewables, no gummies what so ever. They're sugary and don't have the vitamins we need. And my Calcium must be calcium citrate with Vitamin d, chews, which is very hard to find. Luckily my doctor sells Bariatric Advantage Sent from my SM-G900P using BariatricPal

Soup at 10 days post op
