Well, I should probably start by saying my user name is a play on a video game I love called Starfox - I promise it's not an ego thing, lol.
I'm a 33 year old student going after my BA. I have a very loving and supportive husband and a hyperactive dog who keeps me on my toes. :)
I've struggled with my weight from the time I was a kid. My mom had me following the Richard Simmons "Deal a Meal" plan when I was 10, and that set the tone for my life. At the time, I wasn't obese - while I wasn't slender, I was in the realm of normal according to my doctor. But that wasn't enough for my mom. She struggled with her weight, so if she was going to suffer through a diet, I was too. It set the tone of low-self esteem at a very young age; something I've carried with me since. Surgery was a last resort for me, and I intend to make it work!
