I never liked weighing before, but I weigh very often now. As already mentioned by Djmohr it is a good tool for me to see what is working and what isn't. I can tell if I'm lacking fluids, retaining Water, stalling... And oddly enough there have been a few times where a day of eating a bit more has jump started my weight loss again. It has really helped me understand what my body needs better. But that's the beauty of this whole process. You figure out what works for you as you go and you stick with it. Racing heart and dizzy at times

Dehydration is my guess. I'm a bypass patient, but for about the first month after surgery I would get this feeling in the mornings a lot. I keep Water near now and drink it throughout the night and haven't had any more problems. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
How much Water are you getting in? I got dehydrated last week pretty bad and had a headache for days. Took a lot of fluids to get back to normal. And I also feel very fatigued when I can't get my fluids in. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Ate too fast... Lesson learned
Steph~L~16 replied to gettingsleeved1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have the worst time when I am eating dinner and my 2 year old needs my help or attention. I take my attention off of small bites and waiting and tend to just take a bigger bite or eat faster out of old habits. I really have to pay attention now where before I would eat while doing other things all of the time. And I'm the same way with eggs. Wish I could do them but just can't. @@LipstickLady I have read a lot of your posts in the past, and in my opinion most have made me laugh and none have been offensive. Personally I definitely don't think that you should feel like you need to hold back. I am one of those people that is extra sensitive so I don't post much, & just really haven't found anyone that I really 'clicked' with here, but there is a lot of good information both from the vets and from newbies like me asking questions. I think most of it can really boil down to the manner in which people respond. Not coddling, but also not attacking and judging - which I have seen once or twice here. We are all in the same boat and just trying to better ourselves but everyone handles the situation differently. You seem to be sensitive to that while also giving the best advice you can, which for me has been appreciated. And the humor doesn't hurt either. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I agree 100% with AussieGirl81 and I went through the exact same thing. It was like an obsession. I too would turn it around and try to think of a way to adapt that food. I came up with tons of my own recipes that I changed from others. I have always loved to cook, but now it brings me so much more happiness cooking healthier things for my family. Steph~L~16 replied to Andi07's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. I get pretty happy when I eat enough to feel 'satisfied' similar to how I used to feel after eating. Then I feel guilty afterwards because I feel like I really overdid it. I have days where my head tells me I'm hungry all the time, and have to really try to talk myself out of it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

As a family member of 2 people that have passed away due to addiction and a father with final stage cirrhosis. I would vote on getting some help. It may be true that this hasn't been a pattern for long, but there is a possibility it could really cost you a lot in the long run, with your job being one of them. I speak from the opposite perspective and wish I could have gotten my family members some help while there was time. You still have that time and I'm praying that everything works out for you. Pcos, metformin use after being sleeved
Steph~L~16 replied to LMSWNYC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I stopped the metformin the day before my surgery. For the slower weight loss, I'm not sure. I am 11 weeks out today as of today I am at 60 pounds since surgery. I'm not sure how much is average. Metformin definitely helped me in the months before surgery to lose weight! I was at 340 when it was first prescribed and lost about 30 lbs last winter that I attributed to metformin. Pcos, metformin use after being sleeved
Steph~L~16 replied to LMSWNYC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was also on metformin prior to my bypass. I have also been taking 2 Zovia per day for the past 9 mths just to keep me from having a heavy period constantly. I stopped the metformin but have not been able to wean off of the birth control. I am 11 weeks out and I'm hoping that soon it will be able to regulate itself. I have been afraid to try the metformin. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

How about some NSVs!?!?
Steph~L~16 replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We have spent so much time outside this summer doing family activities. Bike rides, picnics, playing in the park, camping. I can't believe the difference it has made in the quality time I am spending with my family. And I am still able to keep up on housework and my husband isn't having to do the majority!
