I've noticed this as well, and I have a full face mask. Wonder if hydration is the cause? I have only been making it and hour or so on cpap since my surgery 8 days ago. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Hello everyone! I am in Newark DE and surgery is scheduled for Mon May 23. I am getting the Bpd/ds duodenal switch in Abington PA...as this is my closest insurance COE. I have family there so it works out well. Starting pre-op liquids tomorrow for one week...time to clean out the fridge and pantry ???? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I think that's the same machine I have. There should be a mask option under settings where you tell it what type of mask you have... Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I too do not have a headboard. On Amazon I found cpap hose holders that are like a "tree" that sits between hour mattress and box spring. It allows the hose to be routed through a holder so it can stay centered over your bed. I ordered that and a longer tube 10' to allow me more freedom to change positions. I tried to copy the link but I'm on my phone...so just search cpap hose holder. Hope this helps! Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

Glad to hear about your progress! Sorry though I don't have any suggestions on Vitamins as I am still pre-op. But I thought that chewables were only needed for the first few months? I recall in my manual that you can have capsules but any tablets need to be crushed or chewables. Maybe this is different than yours? Anyway, good luck finding something that works for you! And happy to see another DSer here Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

@thundermama sounds great! you are doing very well! @Phillygirl_in_DE awesome...and I bet you are happy to be moving on to pureed! So I completed my pre-op items but was awaiting the sleep apnea results. They called me today and said I had severe sleep apnea (63 events per hour, 83 when on back) so I have to get a CPAP. I called the surgeons office and seems they just need some info from my doctor before submitting to insurance. So hopefully a surgery date is coming soon! -

To "Bypass" or to "Sleeve"?
liftedjeep06 replied to Vagrant Violet's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So has anyone considered the Duodenal Switch? It combines the restriction of the sleeve with the malabsorption of bypass. That is what I am choosing although I am still pre-op. I guess many surgeons don't so it, hence the smaller group that have it. The sleeve is the first part and then they bypass a portion of the intestines with about a 100 cm common channel. The difference in the way it bypasses is that they leave the pyloric valve intact so there really isn't any dumping. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk -
Pre-op, BPD/Duodenal Switch vs Gastric Sleeve
liftedjeep06 posted a topic in Duodenal Switch Surgery Forum
Hello All! So I am currently in the pre-op stage and I have completed most of the testing. I had originally thought I would choose the GS, but have started looking into the DS. They seem to be fairly similar, but with the DS adding restriction, thus increasing Vitamin maintenance. I meet with the surgeon in 10 days and have been reading very helpful posts here, as well as reviewing the surgeon's manuals for each surgery. I have considerable weight to lose (BMI 45). I once was down to 185 lbs by counting calories and maintaining a log, but slowly gained it all back plus extra. So, I am a little worried about making the right choice the first time, as opposed to having to potentially gain weight back and have a revision surgery. This is what led me to the DS, which is the highest "rung" on the surgery ladder per the surgeon. The vitamin regiments seem fairly similar between the two, with the DS adding ADEK (fat soluble vitamins). I don't think I would have an issue with the vitamin routine. Has anyone been caught between these two surgeries, and if so, which way did you go and why? Any and all comments are welcome! Thanks in advance! -
