Hi all. I'm 5 weeks out and I feel like everything has been Smooth sailing. I'm curious as to what is normal. I am usually around 500 cal, 45grams Protein in a day. I have been able to tolerate everything that I've tried. One concern: today is the second time this his happened to me.......i eat solid protein (soft chicken breast and a small bite of soft broccoli) around 11:00am and then I'm literally full for hours. I eat slow and don't eat more than I should and even several hours later I can't tolerate Water because I now feel soooo full. I haven't been able to eat anything else today since then because everything still feels very heavy inside. Being thirsty...took a few sips of water and began having strong pain and cramping from the fullness. It's only happened twice but just seams so strange that the heavy feeling and discomfort builds with time and prevents me from any further consumption. Thoughts? Cruise booked....now what?

I had a trip planned when I got my surgery date. My surgeon said that as long as it was two weeks after surgery there was no reason not to go. (It was 3 weeks later). Thankfully I had no issues or complications and the trip has gone well! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
I am three weeks post op. I have loved reading the forums. Following this site has prepared me for many things:, intolerance to Water, intolerance to certain temperature of liquids, constipation, diarrhea, throwing up, changes in smell, changes in taste, changes in emotions...to name a few. I am pleasantly surprised that I have. It has one single issue or complication. Again, I'm only 3 weeks out and I suppose things could change at any time. I wanted to post this so that other newbies know that things can go smoothly, as there can also be complications and changes. Not everyone has the same recovery. It's just less common (and maybe a little boring) to read posts about everything being peachy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Most states you can still get a DUI without being over the "legal limit" If you are driving impaired or on drugs. -
Congrats!

Good luck to you! I had an ERCP performed after my gallbladder was removed and I was still having a huge amount of pain due to a retained stone. This occurred prior to bypass, but one of the potential complications is developing pancreatitis. It was explained to me that the pancreas is an angry and grudge holding organ that can be easily irritated. I think the risk was about 5%, wouldn't you know I got it. That lead to 9 days in he hospital and a painful recovery. I'm not trying to freak you out, rather reinforce what you already seam t know about being particular cautious that the person who performs your procedure is very aware of your anatomy to minimize the risk of this painful risk happening to you. Yes! I do have the list with all the steps, and that sounds correct. I was more curious about how long it would be in between appointments. I'm up to date on all my general health things, and have been on a CPAP for ages so I didn't have to wait for the sleep study. I imagine it will come down to what the nutritionist and psych want to see from each person before moving on to the next step. Its been difficult to find information on Kaiser NW on any forums, largely the information I am finding is for California and their process looks very different. Good luck to you Bubbles80, let's stay in touch!

I have my orientation scheduled during spring break.....so I am right behind you. Have you been given any insight yet as to what the timeframe for surgery is expected to be from when you attended orientation? Be sure to check in and let me know how your upcoming appointments go!

I am tickled that I just found out that I have been accepted into the Kaiser Oregon bariatric program. I had not heard back a week after my referral was sent...being impatient I called to confirm that that my information was received and to ask when I could except to learn the outcome. I was told that I was denied do to the lack of previous weight loss attempt. (Mind you I have been 100lbs overweight and yo yo-ing for over 10 years). The nurse explained that weight watchers, Jenny Craig and such all counted. I let her know the approximate dates that I used Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers and Medifast. She stated that she would resubmit the request and approve it! I am finishing up the Mastering Weight Management requirement now, and am scheduled for orientation next month..the week after my class ends. I was nervous as to whether I would be accepted as my BMI is borderline at 39.6, but I do have obstructive sleep apnea, knee and hip pain. I am just thrilled but only sharing the news with a few close family and friends.
