Good luck with the approval. From what I've read from others you will be more sue of your goal weight when you get there. And you will get there.

Congratulations!!! That's so exciting.

I'm not any where near qualified to answer this but I have read that some were able to stop immediately after surgery.... I guess they will have to keep a close eye on your glucose readings... Good luck!

Longevity Studies: WLS versus not
daizymom replied to CowgirlJane's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Miss Mac I too come from a large family. Some of us have weight issues but many do not- I'm one of the lucky ones to fall in to the obese part of the family. We must have excellent genes as most of my family has lived in to their 80s and 90s. I'm 43 and looking forward to having bypass surgery later this year. -
That's awesome. Do you know when you're having your surgery?

Looking for others in Canada
daizymom replied to betterhealthahead's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
LOL- I know - it's a different way to spell it for sure. Funny story - I went to high school with a girl who spells it this way, and not we work together. To top it all off there is one other person that works here that also spells it that way. But other than the 3 of them and now you, I've never seen anyone spell it this way. I'm planning to take the Go train as well. Where do you live? I'm in Courtice. Kristen - that is so cool- we will have to keep an eye out for 1 another- my first name is Teena. My dad will be coming with me as my support person. Hubby has to work.Yes for sure I'm taking the go train there alone i hope i dont get lost lol. -

My orientation is on April 18th. I'm in Ontario so it's covered through our health care but the whole process can take about a year. A girl on another board sped up her process a lot by calling the centre for cancellations for every appointment so that's wHat I'm doing. I was able to get my orientation moved up 2 weeks. Is my goal just a number I should let go of?
daizymom replied to Lallylocks's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I haven't had my surgery yet, vent even been to the orientation actually. I know that my goal will be fairly low. Underneath all this excess weight is a tiny person! I'm 5"3 and can still fit my fingers around my wrist and wear a size 6 ring. From what I've read these are indications I have a small frame. However I've been over weight my whole life. Right now I weigh 280. I believe my ideal healthy weight will be in the 120-130 range. I weighed that when I was 10! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Hi everyone, I live in Courtice just east of Oshawa. I was referred in Feb 4th and go for the orientation on May 4th. I'm actually going to call to see if I can get in sooner. I'm hoping to have VSG but from the sounds of it RNY is more likely. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

daizymom replied to TorontoDomenic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hello, does anyone have any update on this? My Dr. completed the referral for me 2 weeks ago to Toronto Western, and I'm just wondering how long it will be for the surguery - or even for the first appointment. Thank you! Teena
