Four weeks of full liquids, then I can progress to soft foods. Asked my surgeon about eggs at 2 week visit and he said no. You are still at risk for leaks 3 weeks out........would do nothing to jeopardize this!
I had a lapband prior to my conversion to gastric sleeve on 10/17. With the lapband I always got a hiccup alerting me it was time to stop eating. I'm still on full liquids and no "hiccups" yet with the sleeve. My friend also has a sleeve and her nose starts running when she's ull.
I also had my sleeve Monday and came home today. Have nausea, which is controlled with Zofran. No vomiting, but the oxycodone gives me horrible headaches, will stop taking it. I'm supposed to be on step 2, but have only been drinking clear liquids.
Did either of you have to do a 3 month physician supervised diet? I was just denied for my conversion from lap band to gastric sleeve because I didn't have this. I am now in the process of doing this, but can't get into classes until the end of April. I have completed all of my other pre-op requirements. My BMI is 38 and I am concerned that if I lose weight and am below 35 BMI that they will deny me again!
My insurance is Medical Mutual.
