http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/371564-why-get-sleeved/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3 months out, that's a link to why it's nothing to be afraid of... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
All, I was sleeved on 3/29 and so far here's a few changes that make it all worth it. Down 57lbs (what everyone wants) No longer on high blood pressure meds No longer on high cholesterol meds No longer snore at night No longer urinate 4+ times per night No longer have eczema No longer like bourbon (might be a bad thing haha) No longer count calories No longer watch carbs No longer worry of clothes fit (from XXL to L) Can see ribs and abs again (haha) No longer think about food period. So if you're on the fence, JUMP! The first two weeks sucked. After that... Gravy... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Support group?
stevencornell69 replied to stevencornell69's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How was that inappropriate? Lol. I'm not the one hitting on people. I found it detrimental to the support group to have these two ladies in there sharing such personal info. Crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Damn! You look great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I am the same way. Only rich foods like almonds seem to be an issue and not a big issue at that. My guess is that you haven't lost more because you've explored all the "don't eat" foods to see if you get dumping or not. No judgement here. I've done it too! Haha. Ice cream, beer, liquor, sushi rolls, hamburger WITH a bun, bowl of Cereal etc. But. I don't do it often. I've had steady weight loss (sleeve 3/29, down 57lbs). But when I see a day to day of zero weight loss I know it's because I ate one of the things I'm not supposed to. So back to strict 2-3oz, Protein first, 1-2 shakes a day and bam! Start dropping weight again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Calling last week of March buddies
stevencornell69 replied to mia150's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
2-3 oz is about right. I can eat more sometimes but try not to. It's a delicate balance between my tongue wanting more flavor and my stomach having space for it haha. Also, my only challenge is the amount of time spent eating. If I can leisurely eat a meal I'm good - the right amount and no discomfort. But with 3 kids and no time it doesn't happen often. I do eat all the stuff I'm not supposed to haha I have a little rice, potatoes etc. but not everyday and certainly not every meal. shakes keep me on track with nutrients, and multi Vitamins. Hands down. Best.. Decision.. Ever!! I'm a stud again!!! Lolol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

3/29 for me. SW 273, CW 216 (57 down yea baby). I am horrible. I eyeball portions, drinks shake a day, take Vitamins, and exercise when I can. I feel great and look great (haha). No issues to report. Drink, eat, etc all without problems. Off all medication already. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I've had a few drinks too. I notice it takes a couple of days to start losing again. I think it is a catalyst for a stall. I'm down 56, pushing for 60 in 3 months. That would put me 10 away from goal weight (my goal). My goal is 204, my doc says 180s-190s is likely. But I already feel like a stud! Haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Is your surgery a secret?
stevencornell69 replied to Tara1992's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm flat out lying. Hypnosis and acupuncture that's my story. I don't need everyone giving me crap about surgery, saying I should have "tried harder" etc. screw them. I'm down 52 lbs in 10 weeks. Believe me they notice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I'm 5 weeks out. I decided to try some liquor. I wanted to see if it really is 5x more potent etc as I was told. It's not! Honestly nothing. If nothing else I have a higher resistance. . I've had 2 oz of gin, tequila, and bourbon at different times, nothing. Anyone else experience this? And I'm not mixing it with a lot of liquid. I even sipped the bourbon straight over the course of about 30 mins - nada. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Feel like I'm walking around with the best secret ever!
stevencornell69 replied to Jobey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well I'm personally keeping it a secret myself. When asked how I lost 50 pounds in the last 2 months, I happily tell them ... Hypnosis and acupuncture. No shit. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

stevencornell69 replied to elaina831's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm down 51lbs and loving it. I suck at following the diet and measuring food. Lol. And no workouts because of an ankle injury. I still move a lb. half lb a day etc. no significant stall yet. Glad everyone is doing well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I need support...
stevencornell69 replied to DeannW1114's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We've all been there. Especially when you're about 5 days into the all liquid diet and can't muster any thought besides "this sucks!" The most important part of the pre op diet is the last 3 days. Hint. Post op the first 3 days suck. Pure suck. Uncomfortable (not really pain), surreal, confusing. By day 5 you'll have energy and start going from shock to adjusting. Can you tell him not sugar coating it? From there is about following the liquid then soft food guidelines. I didn't get all my Protein or Water. Still don't. But I do try everyday. That's the key. 40+ grams a day, yes. Most days. Not all. And 40 grams is below target. Oh well. I was sleeved on 3/29. I'm down 48lbs and have exercised exactly twice. Ankle injury 5 days post op is healing now. 48lbs! No hunger. No exercise. And no, I'm not a poster child for doing it right. But I did have to go buy all new clothes 7 weeks post op. I do enjoy the best food because it's 3 meals for me. And I didn't tell ANYONE about surgery. My story is hypnosis and acupuncture. No joke. My office friends are amazed at how powerful hypnotherapy is . In short. Do it. Don't look back. You will still love and enjoy food. In small quantities, and you'll be full. Having second thoughts...help!
stevencornell69 replied to NPR's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Statistically being above a 35 bmi for 5 years makes it nearly impossible to be back to a healthy weight (5% chance). This is the best choice I've ever made. I'm 2 months post op, down 48lbs, already had to buy new clothes, and I have exercised exactly twice! Don't hate me. I injured my ankle 5 days post op so I haven't been able to exercise. I'm not the poster child for following doctors orders. Yet it still works. Do it. First 2-3 weeks SUCK. After that you'll be happy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Zero ibuprofen or other branded of the same (like Motrin). Only Tylenol. They should have given you some heavy duty stuff but I'm not sure how it works in Mexico/US etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Agree with buddy. Do your best the first 3 days. And say screw it if you don't meet the walking, Water, Protein marks. By day 4 the world will be bright and new again haha. Sleeved 3/29/16. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And down a solid 40lbs! It doesn't seem real. The last time I weighed this amount I had starved myself and worked out 4x week for at least 1.5 hours. Only to gain it back. Unfortunately I had an ankle injury 5 days post op. Good news, 40lbs with ZERO work out haha. Next week I am cleared for all levels of weight training so that will change. My most difficult part is adjusting to portion size, and not drinking Water so soon after I eat. FYI: telling no one about surgery. My line is "hypnosis and acupuncture". Sell it baby!
