Thank you all for your replies and great ideas. I go back home Saturday and to be honest I don't know if I am going to tell them the whole truth. Before I left I was on my pre-op diet and my 10yr old was helping me and she was excited to see I was eating different, I told her from now on mom will Be eating healthy so she can be more active, and she understood that. But she is every sensitive so telling her I had surgery I don't think is a good idea, I told myself I'll take it as it comes if she asks me I may just tell her will see. Hi everyone, I have a question if you have the money and didn't need insurance to cover some of your surgery would you still do the 6months wait with the NUT and all of that or would you do self pay and could get your surgery in few weeks? Am just wondering which way you guys would go with.. Thx.

I am 5 days from my surgery and when ever someone asks me or I think about it I can't choose a goal weight. I don't know what weight I want to aim for is the normal? Did you all know what weight you wanted to be before your WLS? All I know is I want to be below 200lbs Height- 5'11 SW- 320lbs CW- 315 lbs GW.....?

Thank you everyone for your replies. It feels good to know I don't have to have a set goal weight. All I know now is I just want to be happy and healthy, I figure as long as I can look in the mirror and recognizes the person looking back at me and be happy with her I am good.

@@Danita I am having chicken breast, lean meats with some vegs or salad also I make chickpeas or lentil soups. For breakfast I have boiled eggs or unflavoured protein shakes.

I am on mine now and is the same as inner surfer girl Arkin's low carb (30 grams or less daily), high Protein (minimum 60-70 grams daily), for two weeks I am so happy is not a clear liquids I would have not made it this far.. 5 more days!!

Thank you everyone for replying. I am self pay and wanted to know what everyones opinion was, I been thinking about WLS for 6months but I didn't know which one I wanted it. About two months ago I started reading about the sleeve and I knew this was the best one for me, and in twos weeks I booked my surgery. I do feel like I did my research to the best of my Ability and this is the right choice for me. Now I have 7 days left fingers crossed everything works out...

We have the same surgery date. I have all your feelings am scared, excited and keep telling myself I am not ready for this. But I know that's just my fears talking and not what I really want, the thinking part of me knows this is the right choice so I just try to listen to her more then the other side lol if that makes sense. I am getting sleeved in Mexico on the 29th, the reason I chose Mexico was because the cost was a lot cheaper and because here in Canada the wait list for weight loss surgery is about 2yrs which I didn't want to do. I did my research a lot and found Dr. Rodolfo Wilhelmy at the Mexicali Bariatric Center, I have read nothing but good things about him and the place. Good luck in your research

I am too worried about this I have 10yr old, 8yr, 4yr and a 9month old so is going to be crazy. On top of that my husband works out of town even though he is taking 6weeks off my 9month old is way too attached to me so is going to be interesting. So my sleeve is on the 29th, and I feel like I am not ready at all. It is starting to scare me not only do I feel not ready because I don't have everything I need yet, I also don't feel ready for life after. Is this a normal feeling? Or is it me just playing mind games with myself. I just feel so lost and confused I feel like maybe I should not be doing this now seeing how unready I feel. I am hoping this is something everyone one goes through and I will be ready when it comes down to it, that I will be okay in the end and that this is the right thing to do. I just hate this feeling of doubting myself being so unsure, I don't think is normal to feel this way about a big decision like this. I could really use some advice. Thank you all...

Oh do I know the mind games this is day two for my pre-op and yesterday I cheated, I kicked myself for that I keep telling myself I am not ready for this. But I know if I stop second guessing myself that I can do this is just easier said than done. Today is the first day of the rest of my life I am not going to look back from here on, I am gonna keep my head down and keep moving forward it can only get better from here. And what the two of you have said just drove home how badly I want to be where you are, to be healthy, happy and loving myself for the first time in my 30yrs of life that I can remember.
