Does anyone know why it is that we are tighter during TOM? I have to practically be on a liquid diet for a few days. Just curious as to why?????

So it sounds like 20% is standard for tipping in salons......I just wasn't sure but now I know!! Thanks:smile:

How much does everyone tip at a hair salon...I never know what the correct amount should be. Is there a standard percentage like at a restaurant? Hair salon services are getting more and more expensive so I want to know what I am supposed to be tipping. Thanks!

Hi Shauna! We are the same age and height and in the same weight range. When I started looking into the lapband I was 225-230 and feeling really uncomfortable. I kept slowly gaining weight b/c I was scared I would not be approved. So my surgery day weight was 240. I am now at 209 and I am happy and the weight seems to be coming off slowly but surely. I was like you athletic and muscular also. As soon as I stopped really working out, all of the muscle turned to fat and I blew up like a balloon. If you are an excerciser to begin with you will do great with the band since it helps you control your food intake. Those are the 2 keys to weight loss so you will do fine. For a while I had stopped exercising b/c it just wasn't doing anything for me. Now that I have the band I can excercise again and actually see results, it's nice! I am wondering if there are nay March '08 bandsters who have a similar start weight to me---240 pounds? I am interested in how you have progressed and what you have done to get there. I am just hoping I get some insight as to why I haven't lost as much as others...thanks!

Hello~ I saw you post and I think we have some things in common. I was banded back in March and no one knows except my husband. So I guess I could use a band buddy too! Keep in touch and we can help each other through this! You are dealing with a lot of changes right now but stay positive and you will get through it.
