sams46: Where in PA? I'm going to Penn. Hospital with Dr. Kirkland. Best of luck on the 12th!!:biggrin2:

I am being banded at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia. I still have to go on Tuesday for a chest x-ray and 1 more support group meeting. Then the real countdown will begin. I am not required to do a pre-op diet, but have been trying to watch what I eat. I've been eating lot of yogurt & soup, but they don't fill me up too much. That's where the band will come in I guess! Good luck to all of the March 14th banders! Best of luck!

Found out what "as tolerated" means!
Hazel-eyes replied to GreenChrysalis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for postig this. I have my surgery on 3/14, 1 month after you. It is good that I read this now and did not have to find that out the hard way like you did. That is a good leasson to be learned. Hope you are doing better! -
Did you tell people about your band???
Hazel-eyes replied to Braedensmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
The only person that knows about my upcoming surgery is my husband. We both decided that this was a medical decsion that is private and does not need to be under the microscope of others. I sometimes feel bad not telling my parents & sister, but I feel like I don't want any negative opinions changing my mind before surgery. Unless you are really educated on the lap-band, then you have no idea. I trust myself that I am educated enough to make my own decision. I may tell them down the road someday but right now I do not want any negative vibes. I tend to be more of a private person anyway so this is the best decision for me. Good luck! -
I would like to buy a really good scale that will be very accurate in telling me my weight as I go through my lap band journey. The scale I have now does not match my doctor's scale and that really bothers me. I would like to be able to accurately track my weight loss. Anyone have a suggestion and I would also like to know where you bought it. Thank you!

going to cabo- what if I drink too much?
Hazel-eyes replied to new_me_2008's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
New me 2008, I am so glad you posted this question and I thank everyone for their responses. I come from a family that travels and parties and has fun, and somehow alcohol is usually involved. I need to know that I can still enjoy myself with my band. My surgery date is 3/14/07 and I want to know that I can have a few drinks every now and then without vommiting, or having some sort of adverse effect. I would love for you to keep me posted on your experience on your trip and how you made out. My family is planning a trip to Cabo as well and I want to make sure I can enjoy a few drinks with them during our trip. -
Hello! We both got our surgery dates today....so I know how you feel right now. Best of luck on your journey!
