HI all... Today I did 3.18 miles on the treadmill and it took me 45 minutes. I'm hoping to have a much better time by the end of the month! Today I went bathing suit shopping and if that isn't the best motivator to exercise then I don't know what is...LOL.

I just had a horrible PB/ slime experience today. I was starving and I stopped and got a small chicken cheese steak, planning to only eat half. Needless to say I only made it past 3 bites and I experienced pain so bad I thought I was in labor again! I had to pull over 3 times while drive and the whole episode lasted about an hour and 15 min. I thought about going to the ER, or driving straight to my doctor's office. I made it home and I had to use a popsicle stick to gag myself causing some mucous and who knows what else to come up. I still feel like I am physically drained from the whole thing and I feel sore on my left side where the band is. I think the thing I need to keep in mind is I should have had a nice yogurt and string cheese for lunch and this wold not have happened. I am interested to hear about other experiences like this and what you can do to make it better. I NEVER want to go through that again......

Hello...I would like to join the July challenge! I need to get back into the swing of things. I am going with a total of 25 treadmill miles this month, and anything else I can fit in will be a bonus. Tonight I did 3.18 miles on the treadmill. Good luck to everyone!

I went and bought the Biotin the other day. I've been taking it for about 4 days and I can definitely see a difference. I am 3 months post op and my rapid hair loss started this month. I am so glad I found this thread about Biotin, I had never heard of it before. Last week I was scared to cook dinner because my hair was falling out all over the place. It has been much better after taking the supplement, what a difference. Thanks everyone!

Is Biotin available over the counter? My hair has been really falling out a lot. It sounds like it is due to my high protein intake.

I just finished running/walking 3 miles on th treadmill. I am motivated more than ever now because I am noticing the difference on the scale when I work out. I would like to be under 200 by the end of the summer, we'll see!

During surgery, was your band filled?
Hazel-eyes replied to vkcse03's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I found out that I have the APL band that holds 14cc's. Right now I am at 7 cc's and I have another fill tomorrow. I think 8 or 9 will do the trick for me. -
Well you have all motivated me to get started. I used to be very athletic and loved to run, but right now I am very out of shape! I did 2 miles on the treadmill tonight and I feel great. My plan is to continue with 2 miles at a time until I hit my 35 mile goal for the June challenge. After that I will increase to 3 miles to really get in shape for July! Salsa, you are my inspiration...thanks!

No, it's not that I can tolerate it...I can and that's the problem. I watch though because I don't want to ever vomit from drinking so I am very careful. I just think that a drink here and there adds calories that I shouldn't have. I'm just not ready to give up a few drinks on the weekend but I realize I need to make up for it with exercise. I guess what I mean is I'm having a hard time not drinking like *Love* said in the video.

Hi Angelica,
I saw that the in the "Fill poll" you thought 8 cc was your sweet spot! I am hoping that is the same for me...how has your success been with that?
-
That was a great explanation...never heard that from my doctor! I'm having a hard time with the alcohol myself....
-
Hello everyone, Thanks for the invite salsa, I needed this motivation! I am just jumping back into exercise so I am going to commit to 35 treadmill miles and anything else I can fit in will be a bonus. I'm looking forward to the challenge!

I went for my "first fill" the other day only to find out that I had already had 5cc in my 10cc band. I was shocked. Leading up to the "fill" I was starving and eating more than I should have with NO problems. My Dr. said he always fills the band during surgery, I had no idea. I was thinking....well why the heck am I so hungry then? So I got another 1cc to bring me up to 6cc total and I am still not feeling restriction. I am calling in the morning and going for another fill this week... I hope. This is just crazy though. Has anyone had a similar situation? I am bit discouraged now that I know I was filled and eating good amounts of food with no problems. My weight loss had stopped and I am feeling down for sure. I hope my next fill helps!

During surgery, was your band filled?
Hazel-eyes replied to vkcse03's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was filled during surgery with 4 cc's. I did not know it at the time and figured I was so hungry post-surgery b/c I needed a fill. 6 weeks later I was bumped up to 5 cc's. I am now at 6cc's and not feeling too much restriction, I hope my next fill works! -
What?! I was filled in surgery!!
Hazel-eyes replied to Hazel-eyes's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am now up to a total of 6 cc's and I don't feel like I have any restriction...I can still eat whatever I want and that's not a good thing....hoping 7 cc's does the trick. -
neverb4, You and you family will be in my prayers. Best of luck tomorrow, you will be fine. Take care and we will see you in band land!

Hello everyone, I have never posted on this thread before but thought I could come here for some help. I am being banded on March 14th, 2008. I have decided to only share this with my husband. Normally, I would have the prayers of family and friends going into surgery that day, but I don't this time so I am here to ask for some prayers. I have 2 little boys and I am basically doing this for them, but I sometime feel like what if something happens and I made a huge mistake? So I am asking you to please say a prayer for me for my surgery. Thank you!
