Gastric sleeve TOMORROW wish me luck
Dknal2 replied to sunsetsue's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Sorry to hear that. It will get better and once you can walk it will get a lot better. Hope you feel better soon -
Hi @ Raymia. I am doing better. Belly still sore, but lap sites are healing well. I have lost 13 lbs up to this point so doing well with weight loss for post op day 8. I feel a lil weak at times but I'm okay. I think I have been doing too much and just need to slow down some. I get lil aches ever so often but it's bearable. How have you been?

I love the syntrax nectars. They have so many flavored and it's really tasty. They have some that can be mixed with water or some type of milk. I would give them a go if I were you.

Congrats@ Rainbow2015... I am weighing myself on Friday the 16th because I weighed myself this past Friday. I lost 9 lbs since surgery as of Friday ( surgery was dec 5). My starting weight was 242 lbs and day of surgery 219 lbs. So , prior to surgery, I lost 23 lbs plus the 9 more since surgery is total 32 lbs. I can't wait to see if there is any progress on Fri. I will certainly let you know.

I have six incisions... they used the da Vinci robot with my gastric sleeve surgery... one of the small ones looked like the dermabond glue was coming off but my doc said it is healing fine. My belly is still swollen and bloated looking as well and I haven't pooped. I asked doc today can I take miralax due to I'm dying here and he said yes so that should help with some of the bloating. I'm not gonna weigh myself until Friday. Every Friday will be my weigh in just to see my progress. Keep in touch it will be great for us to see where we are in this journey in 3 mos or so. Wish i could tell you lol, but i dont keep a scale in the house but from the size of my stomach still being swollen does not seem to be much weight lost. As for my incision sites to my surprise i only have one long one starting just below my breasts i would say it is about 4 inches long and i have two small incisions on each side of the long one. Weird i know but i had a ds , but even for that its really weird but so far so good. Pain is easing up but gas pains still creep up on me lol. Im getting through it just at a pace lol. I hate cottage cheese so no way I can do that. I'm supposed to start full liquids today but I tried a thicker shake and it hurt so I may try my Soups , cream broccoli and cream mushroom that I ordered from bariatric pal... they have like 15 G Protein I think. So between them and my protein juices from synthrax I think I will be ok for now I'm not gonna push it. It hurts when I take too much liquid in. How are your lap sites healing? How have you done with weight loss? Glad to have another dec 5 buddy there are like 6 of us.

I am getting in 46 g Protein daily and I really fight to do so... it literally takes me all day to do so. How bout yourself?

I have to @jackieemac.... that is kept this as my business only so coming to this forum and receiving all this support is so awesome. I have people on here that have been so warm and kind since day 1. It has made this journey a lot easier for me. I truly feel I have established some friendships on here as well.

Oh goodness... that looks delicious...I'm gonna drink a strawberry kiwi clear liquid protein shake to that meal, lol...[but you know what, even though it looks delicious, I just feel like my goals are so much more important than going back from whence I came. I've come to far to turn back now .quote name=High functioning fat man" post="4342935" timestamp="1481496035] I made this meal 5 days after my surgery. We had 12 or so people here. I didn't miss a thing. I did this partially to prove to myself that it really wasn't a big deal. Most of this surgery is mental.

@ sleeveisa... that's how I feel like every time liquid goes down it hurts. I was sleeved on dec 5 and at first it was downright pain, now it's still uncomfortable but about a 4/10 pain. I was saying to myself the doc told you that the swelling plus the extremely smal diameter of your new stomach will be uncomfortable so just relax Diana.. it will get better. But I feel every liquid going down and then I feel an ache. With the weight, I have lost 9 lbs since day of surgery( 6 days ago). I feel like I wanna have a BM and nothing happens so I need to call doc to ask about miralax . I am urinating normal again. at first , sorry if this is TMI, my urine was golden and it was very loud ( odor wise).Nurse at hospital said it's because I was dehydrated and the more I'm able to drink , the more diluted my urine will become and so far she didn't lie. It is now straw yellow and there is no smell . But our body is adjusting and I know it's gonna get better for us all. My abdomen is still very sore especially my larger incision. I feel really tired also. Okay, I'm done whining, lol. On the positive side, I am drinking every 15 min 1 oz Fluid, I'm walking daily and remaining positive and no nausea as of yet. We are all gonna work this sleeve out.

When can I take some miralax?
Dknal2 replied to Dknal2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you all. @smyleetn... you can get miralax over the counter at Walgreen, CVS, Walmart and you don't need a script. I bought some before surgery in case I couldn't go and just by luck I can't go . -

Update: spouse left 4 days after surgery.
Dknal2 replied to veryblessed's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
@ veryblessed... I really hate that you had to go through this at a time when you need support. I have been a RN for 8 years and I remember clinical plus class was a monster. So much pressure and so little time for anything else in the world. I feel he took advantage of that but the only thing he did was help to reveal God's plan for you. His word tells us that he will never leave us or forsake us. So you are never alone. You are going to be just fine, your faith and strength will get you through this. My husband was so against me having the surgery that he did not go with me to have it, my 20 year old son did. That hurt me. He said everything in the world to discourage me from having the surgery pre- op. But I prayed my way through it and God made it happen for me. I am 6 days post op and he really doesn't say much of anything about it. But I feel that as I lose more weight he is going to have some things to say. I will not allow him to make my journey about him and his negativity because this is about me becoming a better me. If it ends bad, then oh well I have to press forward. I think you are strong and blessed in every aspect of the word. Congrats on becoming a nurse and I pray that you get a job on bariatric floor because you will be a great inspiration to so many people. Take care. -
Congratulations!!!!!! The journey begins. I wish you the best and take care.
