  1. Yep hopefully so. I have been walking trying to have some type of exercise for myself, lol.
  2. Awesome post... I'm not insulted because you came from a place of educating me and I appreciate it. I was in military for 4 years and I was a total gym freak so I am very familiar with squats. The post was really put here to be humorous but I was looking for suggestions to retain some of my lady hump. Yes I have had surgery already lol on dec 5. But I still appreciate you chiming in seeing that you are a very fit person and you are very educated in physical fitness so I respect and appreciate your opinion. I will definitely save the link as well. Thanks???? I know I am a little late to the conversation, hell you probably already had the surgery! I did want to address this point though for posterity (or is that posterior? ) I intend no insult nor am I trying to mock you, but squats are a very strenuous lift/movement. The only exercise that competes with it is the Deadlift. Don't get me wrong! The properly performed squat is a wonderful lift that works the entire posterior chain, loads the skeletal system and stresses the central nervous system to it's limit. It improves strength as well as balance. It does so much more than develop your glutes; but make no mistake, it will give you better glutes. If you have never done a proper squat, I do not recommend just jumping in and doing them. Backward lunges and ball squats are a good way to get started. You may find that you never need to do low back back squats with the ball squat: http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/fitness/exercises/how-to-do-ball-squats.html I'll be doing those today and I can squat 200lbs, so don't feel that those are the equivalent of a "girl push-up". You have a butt now? Awesome. You want to keep that butt? Even better. I am all about women keeping their curves! I have had the quintessential no-butt-itis all my life. Since I started squats though, my jeans are finally (for the first time ever) no longer sagging in the back. Best of luck to you on your exercises.
  3. @therealrox.. I so far have lost 18 lbs and I still have a nice smaller butt... I had surgery on Dec 5....I'm like God it's going away.. so ready for 6 weeks when I can exercise... But it was really big and now it's like nice and medium , lol. My husband said it still looks good so I'm hoping to be able to save my girl, lol. My f/u appt is Wed so I will def ask my doc at that time for sure when can I do squats ... I need them in my life, lol.

    12/7/16 gastric sleeve

I was doing well until Thursday. I had the sleeve done on 12/5. I had a general sick feeling all day Thursday and then fri I felt so nauseous... finally I dry heaved for about 10 min with nothing but saliva coming up in very small amounts but it hurt my stomach badly. I still feel sick. I have been drinking water and I ate some sf jello to help me out. Hope all returns to normal because I was feeling great. My 6 lap sites ate healing( they are ugly but healing). I felt like it was going ok until Thursday came. But it will get better I know.
  11. I agree... slow and steady wins the race.
  12. I'm still sore but not in pain.i felt really queasy yesterday for some reason but that's first time I felt bad. Feel a like better today . I hope you get to feeling better soon. It's tough initially but from reading every ones post here, it does get better so stay optimistic. I feel a little better but still in a lot of pain. I make sure to walk as much as I can. I threw up a few times from the nasty taste of repetitive pain killers. I'm home now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  15. Hi gypsy..... how are you doing ? I'm doing okay trying to heal up... 10 days post op...I feel a lil sick today. And I did yesterday as well. But I will be ok. My husband doesn't really say much about the surgery anymore, just kinda asks if I'm ok. I just solicit support from this forum as much as I can. Not doing so great last two days but I will be ok.

    No more shakes!

Do you purchase flavored Dannon oikos triple zero yogurt or is it plain Greek yogurt? I used to love Greek yogurt but I can't eat the plain one.
  17. Are you feeling better? Hope you are feeling a lil better.
  18. That's inspiring... I started at 242 and I would love to get to 150 so you give me hope.
