  1. They ran labs and did a ct scan with contrast (both oral and IV) and all tests came back good. I go to his office on Thursday but he's saying the burning/ fire sensation is nerves and I still have a bad pain on left side. We shall see what he says. I'm on full soups with all veggies and chicken in them now which kinda bothers me because it's only been 4 weeks tomorrow but he never required purée foods so I hope that doesn't have something to do with it. Thanks for checking!
  2. I am three weeks out of VBG to RNY revision and have been on soups since Monday. I have also been having pain on left side that feels like fire sometimes other times just sharp pain. Also swelling in feet but mostly left foot. Called my dr today and he is sending me to ER for a cat scan with contrast to see if I have a leak! I asked what do you do if there is one and he said drain it but how do you stop the leak? I don't have time for this lol!
  3. sorry for the first blank post!! So what was your post diet like? Three weeks liquid? When did you start to add foods? Did you exercise regularly? Your weight loss is great! I'm only ten days out and down 8 lbs

Any February Surgery Dates Out There?

Hang in there it does get better! My surgery was two day before yours and Monday at work for me was a killer and I sit all day. It is better now. Taking short walk breaks of 4-5 min few times a day. I am worried about getting all the fluid in but we can do it! I understand your exhaustion completely just hang in there and try to move as much as possible. I only lost 6 lbs first week which was disappointing considering taking in zero calories and my dr told me yesterday that revisions loose slower sometimes. We can do this! Don't be discouraged!

Any February Surgery Dates Out There?

Hey there "hurst143"! Welcome to the other-side. How was it for you going back to work yesterday? Congrats on not needing got take much pain meds. I only used my meds twice since my surgery last Monday--I like having some sense of control. I return to work on Monday. I'm getting stronger and noticed I didn't need a nap today. Lol. Well thank you for asking! Yesterday was rough! But it was a very busy day at work and lots of stress. I never took lunch and worked 30 min late. By the time I left I was in tears. This morning I got up and the area between the drain port hole and first incision was swollen and extremely tender. I can push on the right the side of my belly with no pain but can't touch the right. I did better today and the pain and swelling has subsided. I'm finding myself a slave to my scale and weighed 4 pounds more tonight than I did this morning lol. I know better than to do that! I'm getting in fluids and hope to start some Protein Drinks on Thursday! I'm actually surprised I haven't lost more in this week than I have considering I'm taking in ZERO calories!

Any February Surgery Dates Out There?

Hi all! I had revision (VBG to rny) February 10th so I am 4 days out. Going back to work tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. Have not used any pain meds since I've been home but I have slept so much that I'm finding it hard to get all of my fluids in. I'm only allowed water, crystal light, Powerade zero and broths. I can add protein drinks next week. My dr said three weeks liquid then four weeks soups then start soft diet. I'm going on a cruise in April and hope to try soft foods before we go so I know what I can handle. These forums have been very informative and encouraging! Thanks!

    5 days post op PAIN

I am 5 days post op revision VBG to bypass. I am really sore on my left side and have zero energy to walk but I am going back to work tomorrow! I'm ready to add protein drinks next week! My dr is telling me after three weeks of liquids then I have four weeks of soups before soft foods! Ugh this is my post op pic
  8. I just had my revision from VBG to gastric bypass 5 days ago. My insurance finally did approve it as I had complications from the VBG 15 years ago. I had a lot more scar tissue than expected but it was completed laparoscopically. Scar tissue had adheared my liver to my stomach which took an hour and a half to remove. I am having extremely low energy I assume from only drinking water, sugar free Powerade and chicken broth. I hope to start protein drinks next week. I'd like to hear others healing times, energy and what you ate post op. (I'm going on a cruise in two months!) Thanks!
