  1. I had my surgery September 2, 2016. I have lost exactly 80 pounds in 6 months. I am struggling with eating enough actual food to keep my nutrition levels acceptable. I absolutely hate the high-Protein shakes, but I will have one every few days as a last resort. A lot of my hair has fallen out, so I cut it short. Anyone else in the same boat? Any suggestions for me? Sher
  2. I was sleeved September 2, and have lost 80 pounds. I haven't been on a cruise, but we did vacation at an all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya a few weeks ago. It was wonderful! The ability to walk into a buffet and have so many different choices, all day long, made it easier for me to eat as much as I should (6 times a day). I have been struggling with eating ENOUGH, as opposed to TOO MUCH. Buffets are perfect for me. As far as wait-staff goes, I feel they don't generally pay attention to things like that. We had a few dinners at the specialty restaurants in the resort, and I just ate what I could and didn't worry about the rest. Enjoy your next cruise!

    Acid and decision for surgery

I had my sleeve surgery September 2. I now have off-the-charts acid reflux. Prior to surgery it was occasional. I am having an upper GI on the 22nd of this month to see how things look, including the opening to my stomach. My dr. thinks I could have stricture, caused by keloid scarring. I don't feel terribly bad most of the time, but it has been difficult to lie down to sleep. He put me on Prilosec for 8 weeks to treat the GERD, then I go back on Prevacid to manage it. I hate to think this is what the rest of my life will be like. I'm hoping something can be done. Aside from that, I've lost 80 pounds. I'm 20 pounds from my goal weight. I'm happy with the results, weight-loss wise, of the surgery. I don't struggle with hunger, I don't overeat, and I like shopping again!

    9/2/15 - Can't Eat Enough

I do chew thoroughly and take small bites. This is why I'm freaked out. I had never heard of stricture, but I will be asking my dr about it tomorrow. I do feel as though something is wrong. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. Everyone I know who knew me before comments on my weight loss. I went from thin to obese back to somewhat thin again (still losing). And yes, people are nicer and more complimentary. But they also feel the need to ask me why I lost weight. Sometimes it makes me uncomfortable.

    9/2/15 - Can't Eat Enough

I eat scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, chicken, Soups, seafood, fish, fruit... As soon as that first bite of whatever hits my stomach, I don't want to eat any more. It's very uncomfortable passing through my stomach opening. I do plan my meals and try to eat well. It's just not happening. Thanks for the compliments. I do enjoy being thinner. My day to day eating issues are a struggle, though.
