  1. I'd say for a good number of people here, myself included, it's one of the hardest issues we deal with. I'm allowed to drink right up to my first bite. I'm fortunate (?) enough that I feel a horrid pain if I drink too soon after eating. Don't care for the pain, so it is enough of a motivator. I also find that when I'm finished eating, I get up, start cleaning up and doing the dishes and by the time I'm finished there, I'm good to go. Also, make certain your meals have a lot of moisture in them- you're less likely to want to drink then. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    3wks out tacos?

Yes, you need to figure out if you can tolerate the sarcasm- but usually- and this is key- those with a known dry wit are usually replied to and/or laughed at by fellow members who know them- and all the good they also bring to the mix. Like the saying goes...if you can't stand the heat, lay off the Tabasco. (See how I wound that back to the hot sauce topic? Damn. I'm good!) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  12. Found this awesome site for those of you who eat and grill and cook meat https://meatdorks.com A bit of info I copied from their site- WHO WE ARE Meat Dorks is a group of farmers, butchers, and cutting facilities that have come together to share our passion for the craft and to deliver great products in a way that is consistent and convenient. We don’t use antibiotics, hormones, or GMO feed and everything we use to ship is 100% recyclable. WHY MEAT DORKS Not every grassfed product is created equal. Great grassfed beef requires excellent genetics, great grass, and a great environment. You also have to dry age the whole animal to maximize the flavor of each cut. We do all of it. Our grassfed cattle have great genetics and enjoy wild grass and open pastures. We also dry age for up to two weeks to maximize the flavor of each cut. PICK WHAT YOU WANT Unlike most online companies, we don’t believe in simply selling a weight range. Under the Meat Dorks program, we harvest what we need monthly to deliver the freshest product and control our growth to ensure every ounce is accounted for. Our members pick from three boxes and have the option to add more from our menu of add-ons and whole primals such as an entire ribeye, belly, and ribs. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Cheese

Spice is key for me! Siracha on eggs- heaven. Tabasco or Louisina Hot Sauce mixed into some home made queso a must. As for other spices- it's what keeps things fresh and interesting. There are only SO MANY ways to cook a chicken breast or thigh, eat veggies- though I don't mind them plain with some S and P. New obsession? Oven roasted asparagus - drizzle with olive oil, a good sea salt (pink or Himalayan) and fresh cracked pepper. Gets a little char on them, and then some fresh shaved Parmagiano-Reggiano over it and I'm in ecstasy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    A beautiful day in Chicago

Our weather has been magnificent he last few days- sunny, breezy and without humidity. Decided to take a walk on our beautiful lake shore. I'm taking a break for a moment to grab some Water and marvel in the fact that I can now do this 13 mile walk - and back! Lol That will be 26 miles when I'm finished! Here are a few pics. Getting a little closer. And a bit hazy Finally- I looked down and realized that 5 months ago sitting like this would have had my upper thighs touching- who am I kidding? They would have been smashed together at this distance all cellulite and yuckiness!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    3wks out tacos?

I prefer my nuts on chins. (I digressed yet again. Dub and I are going to be sent to the principal's office). Good one. I still prefer nuts in the taco. ( music in background...theme to "Cops"... 17. So- made this for dinner tonight and thought I would share. Need- 4 bone in chicken breasts or leg/thigh piece 1 large can black Beans 1 large can tomato sauce ( not spaghetti sauce!) 2 small or one large onion 3 cloves garlic 1/2 c minced giardiniera in oil 3 tbl olive oil Salt and pepper In large deep fry pan with lid, add olive oil, diced onions and garlic. Sauté til onions are soft. Season with S and P Wash and pat dry chicken pieces, season with pepper, and lightly brown in onion and garlic in pan. Add one whole can of black beans, including liquid, one can of tomato sauce, 1/2 c of giardiniera cover and simmer on med for one hour. Remove and set aside chicken, reduce heat and simmer slowly to thicken sauce- about 10 min. Serve alone, or as in my case for my hubby and kids, with Pasta. Spoon sauce and beans over chicken and enjoy! Simmering... Strained oil from pot... Removed skin... Chicken set aside while reducing liquid... Serve and enjoy!! (for me minus the pasta) Oh! Some nice Parmesan on top is delish! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Black bean tomato chicken stew

Thanks- it was really good. I'm not a recipe- follower when it comes to cooking most things - more adventuresome and fly by the seat of my pants. 95 percent of the time I will hit it out of the ball park. Tummy issues? No clue. Have my 6 months at the end of the month. If it keeps up I'll have him do an EGD. Maybe a slight structure? Thanks for asking Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
