Plastics consult- questions for PS vets
LisaMergs replied to LisaMergs's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
Completely get that Babbs! I'm still not certain I want to go thru all of that either. Perhaps something to be said about being comfortable in our own skin.? Owning your sexiness? Not that having the surgery is wrong, either! Such a personal decision. I may still do part of it! For me- it's the scars on my breasts that are the biggest deterrent. Such is life. We all know what we can-cannot live with--- or without. Thanks guys! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Today, I woke up, went for a run and came back to get ready for the day and weigh in. Bam! Hello next "decade" of weight loss... Dropped into the 160's today!!! 167.4. Hello! Omg isn't that so true??? I'm trying not to get too caught up or critical in body image. 99.9% of my brain is fine with my appearance. Unfortunately, that remaining .01% seems louder than the other! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
DUMB question, especially this far out post-surgery...
LisaMergs replied to swizzle's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Kind of surprised at 6 months your restriction has lessened already? Maybe it's just me? I had RNY on March 23 and still no way I could exceed a 1/2 cup yet. Based upon my guidelines, the longer we can keep that volume closer to 1/2c, the better, and we shouldn't think about pushing it up until at least a year out. All that aside, I don't measure things like meat or fish. Simply because I still can not tolerate meats well at all- and when I have fish, I've become accustomed to eyeballing it. I've measured in the past enough to know what 3 oz looks like- and when I add a bite or two of veggies or fruit to it, I'm done. No help at all, but my suggestion would be to take your cooked Protein and get a good scale. Measure it after you've cooked it- and really LOOK at it. You need to know how to "eyeball" for times you are without a measuring cup or device. I consider food measures "after cooked, before consumption" I DO still measure out cottage cheese- that one is hard to eyeball- and yogurt always seems to come in 5 oz containers, so I typically leave the last couple of bites uneaten. Good luck! HW-282 SW/surgery March 23,2016 --272 CW-168 Lisa Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Plastics consult- questions for PS vets

Screw the sugar daddy thing- save and do it for yourself. You'll be happier with the results! And proud you managed on your own. Mine went from 44DDD to 36-38DD- after the excess skin in the sides would be removed, easily a 34. I manage medium tops, but can't go to a smalls because of the girls. I can wear Medium shirts that don't button but have to go to Larges of they are buttoned and fitted for that reason. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Plastics consult- questions for PS vets

It may be because my weight gain was mostly medication- induced and then due to lack of movement from the pain I was in?? There wasn't a weight issue prior to my getting sick. Who knows? I know most plastics guys want you stable for at least 6 months. Another surgeon I wanted to consult with won't even SEE me until I hit my target weight. Not even to consult for costs. Either way, I would not consider doing anything yet. First- the cost-need to save for it; Second- I DO want to be at goal. Fortunately, the weight continues to come off without stalls, albeit a little slower now. 2lbs drop since day before yesterday! Lol. LOVE this tool!! More? Love having gotten my life back and all of the opportunities and changes it has effected for me! Did you end up having the plastics yet? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
And I know a colleague- a dentist- who wears what is akin to the top pink part of a retainer called an obturatur that covers the hole in the roof of his mouth that goes up to the top of the nasal sinuses because of oral cancer. Ohhhh. The pomegranate is the first thing on my list when I leave downtown today! @@Alex Brecher costco sells packs of the seeds. Great when using them for a recipe. However, completely agree with @WLSResources/Clothing Exch When it comes to EATING a pomegranate- I cut mine in quarters and then extend the sides of a quarter to expose the red beauties. That pith though! Ugh! Oy! So bitter!!! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks James Thank you! Amazing journey, if you're just beginning- follow the plan! Believe in yourself. . Many thanks- FEELING great is even better! Don't you agree?? Such a weight not only off our body, but off our shoulders and mind, as well. It truly does! Almost there! Can't wait to hit the finish line! Not on purpose, Dub, but if that's a side effect of my journey, then I'm twice as happy! You never know who may cross your path that motivates you or gives you motivation. All- having the motivation to make a change and LIVE is so powerful. More importantly? Being able to love yourself no matter what you look like, how you got there...I truly believe that it is in loving yourself that you allow yourself to succeed. Lol. I'm an Italian Catholic girl raised in an Orthodox setting. My Mother has been the administrator of a synagogue since I was a little girl (I'm 50 now)-we've taken to celebrating Passover, Sukkot, Purim and Hannukah- now with my children as well. The High Holidays are a part of it[emoji4]. Sounds crazy, but it's just how we roll. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

My drink of choice. 5 flavors. All very good. This one- Lemonade- literally no Protein taste, tart enough, great success with it. I hate over sweet as well, and prefer non-dairy based drinks. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
