    Chronic Indigestion

swimbikerun, were your symptoms similar to mine? My surgeon said she suspected this was a "motility issue" so I am assuming she means gastroparesis. You said you were on Reglan for a short time... Did it work/not work for you? I start Reglan tomorrow... I sure hope this works!
  2. I was sleeved on December 28, 2015 so I about 10-11 weeks out from my surgery. Other than my initial difficulty swallowing in the first few days, I did fine until about 4 weeks out, then the indigestion started. It starts mid-late morning and goes all day. It may subside a little before bed but often it's still there at bedtime. I wake up without it. I have tried prilosec and am now taking nexium (40mg twice daily) without much relief. I am taking carafate as well with marginal improvement. I start reglan on Thursday with the hope that this will help but I am starting to really get discouraged. I've had a barium swallow test, an endoscopy and I've been tested for H.pylori but still no explanation for why I feel so awful. (There was some foam in my stomach but it's not the "foamies" I have heard about here.) If the reglan fails, I am likely facing a revision.. something I am NOT thrilled about. I am so tired feeling nauseous and sick. Prior to my surgery, I have probably taken about 20 tums in my entire lifetime. I didn't even gt heartburn when I was pregnant. Now, Tums are like my favorite food and it doesn't even really help. Internally, my stomach almost feels "hot" and the feeling right up to my throat almost feels like cooling peppermint or something. It's an odd feeling. It's great to lose the weight but not when I feel so lousy. :/ Has anyone experienced this? I've seen people saying they felt this way a few days after surgery but not in this time frame. I guess I am wondering what happens next. Sorry I am whining but I feel terrible and while I don't regret the surgery, I keep thinking I should have had a bypass. Ugh.
