Hey CarlaG congratulations on everything. You will do great. I am 5 days post-op. I think everybody in my department knew I was going in for banding. I never heard any negative remarks. I did get a couple of calls on the few days after surgery, which felt good. I return to full duty on Sun night. We also work 12's. I will be working 1800-0600. The only concern I have is energy. I get winded going up one flight of steps. Anyway good luck with everything keep us posted, and if you need anything feel free to ask!!! mike

Hey All, I woke up this morning and found my BURP:) what a wonderful feeling. Pain is less and gas is defiantly less. I must give much love and admiration to my wife, she has ROCKED through this whole journey. We have 2 kids and she has had double duties all weekend. Anyway did I say I could finally burp!!!!! I had 482 calories yesterday, 70 gr Protein and 62 oz of Water. I am putting ice packs on my main incision area and it seams to be helping. All the food I am trying to eat is going down good. Its only Yogurt and cream of ckn Soup, but its a start. I have not been on a scale since surgery but I can tell I am loosing weight. Well every day will be better than the last, and that is a great feeling. Chat Soon Mike

Wanted to know I any one has the Realize Band. After Surgery I was told what band I had. I got home and looked at the info about the band. It has a awesome support web page. Very interactive. I lets you personalize your goals and your weight loss and also a nutritional tracker. I think it will all be great. Mike

Hey All, 1 day post-op and every thing went great. I think we all need to thank our support staff at home. My wife and two daughters were awesome. My wife has had double duties the last two days. She has been great. I feel guilty that she has to do so much. She is always asking if I need anything, never once complaining. Thanks BABE. So I am doing great, a little uncomfortable with the gas and pressure but I will manage. I am getting up to walk around as much as I can. I am on liquids and puréed food. Its going OK. I am getting good liquids in. I wanted to say thanks again for all the support. It feels very empowering reading all the comments and support. I will surly return the favor all I can. Thanks Mike

Well, one day post-op felling good. The operation went GREAT. The staff was very good. I am feeling pretty good. The pain is very manageable looking forward to the upcoming weeks. Hey All Thanks for all the words of encouragement, It is 0430am on the morning of. They moved my surg up to 0900 so I have to be at the hospital at 0700. Anyway it means a lot to hear all the support. I will check back as soon as I can. Mike

I am 31 years old and started my journey at 370lbs. I am 350 lbs now. I am very exited about my surgery. I want to thank all of the posters. They make it easier to cope with all the emotions I am going through. Reading all the threads calms me down and I look forward to posting my successes. I am on day 2 of the clear liquid diet. Thats not fun, but worth it. Well there it is. I will get back ASAP.:mad:

Hey all, Just wanted to share my pre-band thoughts. I think reading all your post's is helping me cope with the nervousness of the events of tomorrow. I just want it to be Saturday already. Anyway I am on my 2 day clear liquid diet and I am so very hungry. I am trying not to get to grumpy :cursing:, My wife and kids have been great. Well I will post as soon as a can after the fact. I am very exited about the new life ahead of me. Can anyone tell me if I will be hungry after surg. If not about how long did it take to get hungry again. Thanks to all. Mike

That sounds good, I am heavy into weight lifting myself, I was a personal trainer before my cop'n days. I work for Carver County Sheriff. I am looking forward to getting back into the gym. Do you feel hungry like you did before the band. I am on a 2 day pre-op clear liquid diet and its killing me, but I know it is worth it. Can I PM from this site?

Got it thanks, Hey Ceradad ant advice for me, I go into get banded tomorrow. It looks like you have had a lot of success with yours. 90lbs in 6 months. Way to go. Any secrets to pass along. Anything would help. I am a local Minneapolis cop also.
