I'm feeling the same. Also having some emotional problems. Feeling useless like I can't get anything done. Feeling bad for my 5 year old I can't do much with him cuz I'm healing..a lot going on at one time rhen dealing with the food issue...it's very tough and I don't think I was mentally prepared. Feel your pain. I believed "them" when they said you get a 6 month hunger holiday and wouldnt want food at all. Im one week post-op and starving. I get my protein in. And im still desperate for food. And sad and depressed. Realizing those feelings were expected, im gritting my teeth and bearing it. But i thought it would be more mental. Not physical. I physically am brought to my knees by the smell of food. It all looks n smells great. Nothing looks bad.

Pain that comes in a wave at bottom of chest area
SthrnChic replied to SthrnChic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thx for the reply. It is not a burn. Its a pain like a gas pain. Goes away in 3-4 seconds but hurts like dickens in the wave! I am taking pilosec twice a day (regular routine rx for everyone my dr operates on). I had some mild heartburn off n on prior to surgery. But this feels nothing like heartburn unfortunately. I hope it gets better soon. Ugh. -
Pain that comes in a wave at bottom of chest area

Anyone have similar symptoms or can tell me what this might be? I have pain that comes in a wave at varying frequencies. I cant say its everytime i drink something but certainly a lot of the time. It also happens spontaneously without my having drank anything in a bit. It almost feels like a gas pain but i know it is not gas. I had surgery 6 days ago. I feel good otherwise. No fever or nausea. I called the on call fellow and was told if i had no fever and could keep things down there is no concern. ???? -
Reasons given for requesting time off?
SthrnChic replied to xochtlem's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im having surgery thursday april 7 and simply requested vacation for those days and following week. I am not required to elaborate on vacation plans. We have pto so vacay and sick all the same. I am telling noone at work about surgery because im scared to death of being fired for the heavy claim on our insurance. Working for a small employer with less than 50 employees, my claim negatively impacts rates. While HIPPA exists and they should not be able to find out what im doing, they woukd be able to put 2 n 2 together. I want plausible deniability so am remaining mum to even my closest work friends. However i wont out and out lie for if there were complications, god forbid, that kept me out of work for weeks or months, id have to tell it and not want to be caught in a lie. Im a valued employee and been here 8 1/2 yrs buuuuut rather safe than sorry. -

Weight Gained Since Having Gastric Sleeve Surgery
SthrnChic replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear almost everyone relate to being "near goal" or "at goal" or "maintaining goal." I dont have a goal. Should i be concerned? My surgery is coming april 7.
