  1. ...so it's been 6 weeks and I'm really happy with my results. I'll post several comparative before/after pictures below. I have had a complication where I have an incision dehiscence (opened wound) that started out just as an irritation but Dr took out some deep sutures that were causing the problem so it's healing now.
  2. I'm in St. Louis, MO and my surgeon is Dr. Herluf Lund he works out of St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery in Chesterfield, MO. I'm not sure about the rules on posting links but if you Google 'Dr Lund St. Louis' he'll come right up. He is absolutely wonderful, bedside manner so amazing and very very funny just when you need him to be!
  3. Thanks so much I feel so different!

    "Must Haves" post LBL

I was VERY thankful for my walker. I ordered mine from Amazon but you may check your local Council on Aging and they might rent or allow you to borrow one. Landyards!!! I linked 2 together just for showers and another for my "daywear" (fancy I know). MY personal #1 used weird thing was I tied a long thick ribbon to the footboard of my bed then used a safety pin to pin it to my shirt when I went to bed so when I had to get up I could wrap the ribbon around my wrist a couple times and pull myself upright without any pain. A bar of antibacterial soap just to hand wash my incisions and naval in the shower also gave me piece of mind. I wish I had ordered a second abdominal binder (found a healthcom 3 in 1 postpartum recovery girdle belt on Amazon $20.58). I tried wearing Spanx while washing/drying my original binder and I was very uncomfortable. You'll be so very happy afterwards Jen - if you think up any questions please feel free to ask away!!! I'm only short of 3 weeks out of surgery.
  5. I cannot wait to see!!!! I just tossed together a side by side.
  6. Hiya folks. Wanted to post a couple quick pictures just to update. I'm still really tired & my lower back hurts some but I have no pain from my incisions. I have a follow up appointment today with my surgeon Dr Lund. Sorry everything is from the front but I'm solo for a few days while my wife is out of town on Business and my 5 yr old takes terrible pictures [emoji13]
  7. I know it's sooooo damned hard and frustrating but hide your scale or have someone else do it and just stick to your Dr's plan only weigh @ your appointments and you'll be a lot less disheartened I promise!!!
  8. Funny you would ask today is my first day alone and so far I'm doing okay. I also work from home so I'm working today and haven't ran into any terrible problems other than I'm pretty tired. I did get a walker from Amazon that I'm using to get around just because I get tired at a moments notice so its perfect to lean on & we have a rambunctious pit bull puppy that I really don't want to jump on me. She usually doesn't but I'm glad for the extra bit of protection since she's a bull in a china shop most days. I'm still on some of my pain meds. First let me say keeping a running "Meds Schedule" has really helped me stay on track because I know what I took and when... My pain pump (numbed the muscle work) was pulled out Sunday and I haven't really missed it; just excited the extra tubes are gone. I was on 2 Nucynta 50mg every 4 hours and I'm sure having someone keep me on that schedule day 1-2 was why I don't remember a lot of pain. I'm on extra strength Tylenol throughout the day but I do take a Nucynta before bed. I definitively have pillows everywhere! My latest obsession is my belly button - it looks so weird to me.
  9. No kidding! When my wife suggested we get it I wasn't to sure how it would work but it's incredibly awesome.
  10. I found a memory foam kids chair at Wal-mart that both makes my recliner more comfy (it was too soft and I get stuck!) then I use it in bed as my pillow (my head fits in the "seat"!). I sleep in bed now & getting out sucked but I tied a long thick ribbon to the footboard and a handle to the other end. It's been a miracle ribbon since I can pull myself up without any pain or assistance .
  11. Finding a comfortable position to sleep in is the hardest for me. Here's a side-by-side of the front. I'm still super swollen especially on the right side but I wanted to share.
  12. Like I've been twisted into a pretzel and run over by a truck... [emoji30]
  13. I haven't gotten stable enough to take too many pictures but here's a few from the rear.
  14. I'm okay just really tired - I will post pics soon . Thanks for checking on me!
