I had that happen a few yrs back after hysterectomy. I had to have a partial and then about 8 mths later they had to do a radical hysterectomy. I woke up unable to walk. Nerve damage in my entire right leg. Months of physical therapy and a walker and wheel chair for almost a yr. (I was 32 yrs old). They put me on gabapentin and it has worked wonders for me regarding pain. I still take it and still have numbness on front part of leg from knee down through shin. I still can't do all I use to do with my leg but so much better than where I once was. I wasn't overweight then, only 125 lbs, so I'm sure that helped with my recovery. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App I hope you make a full recovery! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Question about certain type of protein...
reinventingmyself replied to jpt.30175's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Yes what @@Bufflehead said. I drink isopure sometimes because of high Protein but has a strong aftertaste. Definitely, must be an acquired taste. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -
Insurance Tricare?
reinventingmyself replied to claddagh66's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! I am glad it worked out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -
I have tricare prime and had surgery 2 mths ago. However, I had mine at MTF so my program covered everything. Only thing not offered there was psych eval and Tricare prime covered that with no hesitation. Since I did it at mtf, I did not have to wait 3-6 mths that Tricare make some wait. My Dr. referred me for sleeve and I was sleeved 2 mths later. I had no complications what-so-ever and was referred with 35 bmi. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

STALLED 1-1/2 YEARS OUT, DEPRESSING CONVERSATION WITH SURGEON -- HELP!
reinventingmyself replied to Momcat's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Wow. I was not expecting to read this. A little sad now. Lol I see some people up their calories more and eat a little differently when in Maintenance. Of course I know we can't go back to old habits and calories but did not realize I may be maxed out at 1200. I am only 2.5 mths out so about 6-700 calories a day. I am thinking I may need to get my metabolism tested as well. Can this be done by simple blood work? Did you have to specifically request it or was this part of your lab work pre-op? I'm so glad you brought this up. Thanks. I will say that I have met plenty of people at support groups that have lost 100% and some. So it can definitely be done. Don't give up. You got this!! The Great Arse Face Experiment (Or - Does Haemorrhoid Cream really help with your turkey neck?)
reinventingmyself replied to KindaFamiliar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I enjoy reading your post. Always entertaining. Congrats on your weight loss. I have heard of women using the "arse cream" to temporarily remove the puffy eye swelling obtained over night. As one stated before I think it is temporary and nothing for a permanent fix. But hey you never know. Hopefully, it will work and then we all will be investing! Stage 4 any techniques to meet fluid goal?
reinventingmyself replied to yami17leth's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I struggled with Protein and Water up until about 3 weeks ago. I am a little over 2 mths out. For your milk you can use Fairlife fat free milk. 13 gm protein per 8oz . That will bump your protein up some. I always have my water bottle with me. It is a 28 oz bottle. I drink one first half of day. Goal is by 2pm. Then 2nd bottle by 8 . Then only 10 oz before bed when I take all my Vitamins. But it is a conscious effort all day. Also, I have realized that I have to drink a protein shake daily. That is the only way I reach my goal. I use isopure 40g or liquid Protein 42gm and add them to my morning water. I just switched from unflavored isopure with fairlife milk to get a variety. I atually gained weight from the hospital. It took almost 2 weeks for the lbs I gained from hospital to go away. Then I slowly started losing. I expected it so that I would not be disappointed if it happened. Please just focus on healing the first month. You will lose weight! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -
Newbie on Protein
reinventingmyself replied to Debbie915's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use Isopure unflavored. As One said above, horrible in crystal light but I couldn't taste it in food and milk. I used it in fairlife milk daily and 8oz was 38 gms of Protein and then mixed it in Soup etc. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -

I had a hysterectomy a few years ago. Zipper cut incision. When I had vsg surgery couple mths ago dr. Said she had to remove a lot of scar tissue while doing the surgery. I have had no complications but my surgery lasted about 3 hours because of this. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App -
