    Atkins Lift products ?

Yes I tried it. It has that same aftertaste that I hate and dries your mouth out really bad. But all Protein drinks does that to me. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App
  3. I was allowed to take mine entire time. I take mine as a hormone replacement. Anesthesiologist even allowed me to take it morning of surgery with a sip of Water. I am about 2 weeks out but haven't had any issues. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

    Forgetting about your sleeve?

Yes, I have had this to happen to me as well. I am 10 days post-op and while fixing my husband dinner I had a bite up to my mouth. Then it hit me. Aww man I had surgery and I can't eat this. Definitely an adjustment. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

Liver shrink... Am I eating to many carbs?

I was only allowed 30 grams max on pre-op diet. I'm surprised you are allowed so many. But each Dr. is different. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

    Post op diet

For me I was Clear Liquids first 2 days then full liquids (phase 2) for 14 days. But this phase I can have pureeds as long as it loose enough to be sucked through straw (but can't use straw). They do have us transitioning to the next phase. Day 10 we slowly start then by day 14 I am full soft food phase. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using the BariatricPal App

What did everyone drink 10 days pre-op?

My doctor required all liquid diet for 7 days prior to surgery. Protein shakes, sugar-free jello/Popsicles and broth. Thats it. I use Isopure unflavored Protein powder, lift and premiere Protein drinks. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal

GP says to do Weight Watchers instead

With all the new technology and advancements in medicine it is going to be impossible for a GP to keep up with everything going on. Yes, obesity is a huge epidemic but so are a lot of other issues. We cant count them out because they don't know everything about thousands of diseases and diagnoses. I have a child that was born with a rare disorder. She is 21 now and I still educate drs. to this day because they just don't know everything. My daughter gets frustrated because just last mth for example she was admitted twice and after 7 days the second time they still didnt know how to treat her illness. Could I have been mad, of course, but at least they were honest enough to let us know and they were calling all around to find specialist that can give insight and to possibly send us out to. After 21 yrs, you would think Drs. would be knowledgeable but it is simply impossible. So since GP's does not specialize in anything it is their job to refer us to specialist that does. My PCM was receptive and had no issue referring me. She also stressed to me how many patients that she has seen that has had surgery and has gained the weight back, to the point that she had no clue they ever had the surgery. So it is understandable that there may be some hesitation if they see real life statistics (their patients). That is why we have to take control of our own health. Like one poster said there are plenty of GP's so find a good one that has no problem referring out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal

Just missed the BMI of 40

I hate how all insurance requirements vary so drastically. I had 35 bmi and dr. sent in referral for high blood pressure. That was my only comorbidity and it is controlled with just a dieuretic. I was approved no questions asked. I have tricare insurance but they didn't cover sleeve (in Dec. when referral was submitted). So hospital on military base is covering it 100%. But please don't give up. Eat a big Breakfast and go back and get weighed. Don't let .8 stress you out. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal

    Skin Removal Surgery

I have tricare and my nutritionist stated they don't normally pay for it. But she said to do the exact same thing that FrankiesGirl stated. She said no matter what I go to the doctor for mention to them any issues I may be having so that it will be well documented in my file (if it appears that I may need plastics in the future). March 7th HURRY UP

Same thing happened to me. I was scheduled for March 3rd and got a call last Friday asking if they could move it up til Feb. 22nd. They didn't even give me enough time to meet with nutrition for 7 day liquid diet instructions. She had to rush all my surgery processing appts. Etc. Hopefully, @"Dub" and I can send good luck your way and you won't have to wait til 7th! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal
  13. Yes, I am on the all liquid diet for 7 days. On day 3 as well and they bloated me up big time. I try to stick with lactose free. But I bought a variety and drink certain ones at home since I get that feeling. When is your surgery? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using BariatricPal
