I had/have reservations, concerns, worries myself... I just like to think that it's not in our control anyway and like the above sleevers said leave it to the professionals

  5. these two weeks... I'm thinking they may be way worse then life post op... mentally draining ...just going through the motions of coming terms with the doors that i have accepted as being closed for years and realizing they are about to be open. realizing the certain people's support (not approval) is imperative to this...i genuinely feel for those who don't have anyone on this journey and am just so grateful for this site and the supportive people on it.... feeling very emotional and very excited... two weeks to go....
  6. this is going to be the longest two weeks ever.....

    March 7th HURRY UP

You know when you have a vacation booked and u can't wait for the time to arrive but it's also bitter sweet because as soon as it comes is as soon as it ends? Well I like to compare this to the vacation that won't come to an end... And the count down to march 7th seems like foreverrrrr away Since I have entered my 26th year (and heaviest) of my life I have experienced constant anxiety especially hypochondria, sleep apnea, and the most unhealthy relationship with food thus far. I have complete faith that this is all going to subside as soon as I am healthy mind, body, and soul. I have since gotten over the anesthesia fear and the complication fear.. I've moved into the POSTIVE thoughts phase of this crazy rollercoaster ride that we all have in common. But really .. March 7th....... Hurry the F up
  8. This isn't a deal breaker for me but I would like to know if any sleevers have an occasional drink and how their body reacted. My Doctor recommends to never drink again.. Anyone else?
  9. Has anyone had an experience with this and would you say it's good for us sleevers? I found a great one on biohealth.com they say it's good to take before bed because the protein keeps releasing throughout the night... The one I found has 32g in one serving! Thoughts ?

    No alcohol ever?!

Thanks everyone! I am not a big drinker at all but I enjoy a glass of wine now and then. I have a wedding that I'm in coming up and I want some champagne! I also don't plan on living like a monk and want to enjoy life without restrictions ... At the end of the day it's all about balance I think... Thanks for all the feedback

    Eating before surgery

    Wow! Motivation I'll say

    it's happening...

Hi All, I am set as of today to get my sleeve surgery on 03/07 with Dr McGinty in NYC at St Luke's Hospital. Has anyone been to him? I am wondering about your thoughts about him. Today has been an extremely emotional day between finally getting a date after all these appointments I have been too and going over the potential complications with the Dr. To say the least I am a nervous wreck. I am scared about the surgery itself, I'm scared about the life change, I'm scared to end my relationship with food, I'm petrified about the complications. I'm kind of having second thoughts. Some words of advice or support from someone who has been here would be great. I just want to live a normal life so bad. I don't want to get this done and constantly feel like I'm not living life to the full potential because I have to eat as slow as a snail and I also don't want my life to be cut short because I decided to do something irreversible so early on. ah!!!! - Nervous Nelly

    Eating before surgery

I can totally relate. My surgery is in 3 weeks and I have literally been eating to the point of making myself sick. I've starting going to the gym and walking on the treadmill to prep myself and am hoping that the ravenous habbits subside as it gets closer
