Hello I have a question. What are people eating as Snacks after being transferred to the normal diet? My wife had surgery on April 13 and we are trying to figure out what kind of snacks she can have. If anybody has any suggestions I would be grateful. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE using the BariatricPal App

Has anybody used any of the recipes online that make something unhealthy better for you (candy, fried chicken, cake)? I am on the hunt for some because I love to cook but every recipe I try tastes nothing like I intended or the ingredients are expensive AF. Please let me know if you or somebody you know has tried any of these recipes. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE using the BariatricPal App

Ok so I am asking this for my wife...she has lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. Is this normal? I try and make sure she has stuff she can eat. Is this normal or should she be losing more weight than this? She is trying to make sure she gets in her liquid and Protein in. She never over fills herself. Are we still doing something wrong. I am worried she isn't losing ad much weight as we think she should. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE using the BariatricPal App

I want to let everybody know that you need to thank your support person. I am a support person but I am also on my own rny journey. If you haven't hugged, thanked, or told your support person you love them please do now. Being a support person is hard. We watch the people we love be hurt, suffer, cry, and be generally sick. We know that the rny, sleeve, or band is hard on the person who had the surgery. Just remember that we love you and want the best for you and that as a support person we have to be strong when you can't be. #bariatricsupport Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE using the BariatricPal App

My wife is going through the sleeve but some of the stuff is different and I just want somebody having the same surgery I am having to talk to. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE using the BariatricPal App -
I am not losing any weight preop. I have been dieting and exercising. I have been charting my meals and got a jawbone up to keep me on track. I have cut out soda and am drinking solely Water. I measure and weight everything I put into my mouth. I am getting discouraged because I have not lost anything in almost 2 weeks. In fact I have gained a pound. I just wanna cry. I have just started my journey ( month 2 of my 6 month preop) and I have only gained weight. My nutritionist says my goal calories a day should be 1800.....any ideas? I went to my first nutrition appointment on 2/18. I have my consulation with the surgeron on 3/8. I am scared and I keep wondering am I making the right choice. I have alot of worries that are not just about the surgery itself. I am worried about will I be able to lose the required weight loss before the surgery so my insurance will pay? Will I be able to sustain the diet I need to afterwards? How will I cook for my daughter and maintain my diet? Will the surgery effect my marriage? I am going to start to see a therapist because of some of these emotions, but I just can't believe I have all these thoughts already and I haven't even seen the surgeron yet. Does this mean I am not ready? I want this, and I am want it bad. I have been thinking about it since my daughter was born 6 years ago...I am just scared how this will impact everything. Am I alone in these feelings?

I just found out my insurance reduced the amount of nutrition appointments I need to have. I might be able to have my surgery in Aug or Sept! I am super excited and it feels like I have a real chance of being the wife and mother I always wanted to be. I can't wait!!!! I hope everybody having their surgery soon does well and I will keep you in my thoughts. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE using the BariatricPal App
