  1. I'm struggling with getting in enough protein as well. Unless all my meals are protein based then it can't happen. I'll borrow your advice and start writing out a food plan in advancs

    Nausea

The nausea was the worst!!! I had it when I was in the hospital and they gave me strong drugs to combat it. By day 3 the nausea was gone and I haven't felt it since. My doc says if clears up after a while so just hang in there however if you throw up when drinking water or other liquid call the doc! Good luck [emoji3]

First night home and need help!

I was sleeved 7/6. Reflux hit me 2 days after. I couldn't lay down flat in bed coz the reflux was that bad. Fast forward one week post op, taking my PPI and the reflux only happens when I'm getting hungry. Point is, it'll get better just take your PPI and sip that water [emoji3]
  4. I completely understand where you are coming from because that is one of my biggest fears. I'm working with a therapist now and I'm getting the surgery tomorrow. It's scary to know my old faithful food is no longer there but I'm ready to see what this new chapter brings. Good luck to you and do get a good therapist!
  5. Reading this is helpful. Surgery is tomorrow morning. I can't believe it's here! I'm anxious no lie and I've thought about it all day that it is ok to cancel and try a medically supervised diet for a few months and see how I do. I am so afraid of getting fat again. I've lost tons of weight but can never keep it off. This is the last resort, if I fail then I'm fat for life? Failure cannot be an option! [emoji51]

    Feelings of should I?

I'm 2 days to surgery and I'm going back and forth with canceling surgery every hour. I'm thinking I can do it on my own, again. I'm thinking I can't imagine not being able to eat what I want when I want. I'm thinking if I regained weight after surgery id probably lose my mind.
  7. Surgery is July 6th so I'm prepping for that, cleaning house, buying foods that I can eat and tying up loose ends at work. Happy fourth to y'all
  8. Congrats on your success [emoji6]

    YouTube 360 video of VSG

Argh I was waiting to see them inflate the detached stomach and the video cut off I hope my surgeon plans on stitching over the staple line, feels much safer. I'm getting mine done in a week so this is an awesome share, thanks for that

Hot mama!!! Congrats on a job well done!
  16. Having smaller boobs that don't look like inflated balls Not feeling self conscious and like everyone is talking about me Not worrying about fitting into seats wherever I go Fitting into my smaller sized clothes Jogging and lifting weights! Thighs not rubbing when I walk....I hate this so much !

    Is there still hope

You haven't lost your sleeve, just have to get your head around to it. What motivated you to get this surgery in the first place?
  18. I have added you guys on my mfp. I'm pre op, surgery is in 3 weeks
  19. Do they leave the extra stomach to have people fail or are they just cautious at not taking out too much stomach? Curious!

Surgery in 2 weeks-- very nervous

I totally understand where you are coming from. My surgery date is 2 days after yours and I am asking the same questions you are asking. From my understanding, some regain should be expected once the body settles to its set point but nothing major. I'm beginning to think that in order to succeed long term the mindset around food has to shift. Otherwise the same habits that got us where we are today will pop up and take us right back where we are now

Upper G I track done EGD

Whoa! Hold up! You need to be under anesthesia to get the EGD??? Just what is this EGD? I'm getting one on 6/10 and didn't realize I need to be under! Argh!! Can you drive after wards or should I have someone come get me?
  24. @@NPR, I feel you 100%. I'm scheduled for surgery June 15th and I am freaking out. My mind keeps telling me why go through such a drastic and irreversible surgery only to gain it back? See I've lose weight countless of times, looked amazing, felt awesome and healthy only to gain it back!! In a way I am afraid of myself. I feel like as much as I want to succeed I will sabotage myself some way some how [emoji20] I'd hate to regain to where I am now (265lbs). Is gaining inevitable? I also haven't told my family and won't because I fear they will be against this surgery.
