if I lose weight during the six-month period and fall below my BMI will my surgery be approved
Thinny replied to taweedeegirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This would really be unfair sounded they ask you to lose before surgery. I don't think it's a common practice because they're are people here who have lost like 40 lbs before surgery. -
Gastroentroologist surgeon will not clear me
Thinny replied to Carol Tracer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
An open MR I doesnt produce the best quality. They have an MRI called the donut for us larger folks. You just have to find a facility that has it. -
UHC Bariatric Resources

I spoke to that muse today. She went through her checklist but I was like did, done, next etc. The only good thing I got from. Her was a form for my pop to document my 6 months. Also something to show 5 years with BMW over 40. Those forms are good because she kept asking me to send her a sample. Now I have it in uhc approved format. She said she'll check in the day after surgery then 30 days after. That's all! -
I'm finally going to create a FB account with lots of pics of "less of me"

Any April 2016 sleevers out there?
Thinny replied to bluemangos's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm going in April as well...fb= Hayes Brothets. And yes I feel like I won the lottery and my surgery date is when I'm picking up my check! -
I hope to get my surgery date for the end of March beginning of April. I keep busy watching you tube vids on wls and of course reading everything on this site and elsewhere. In a recent post, I noted that I never had a FB account because I have never wanted to post pics of myself. Well that is going to be changed now. I'm going to do it big! Once I get to goal weight or maybe before if I'm looking as hot as I think I will (haha). So here's a list of rewards for myself. Facebook - as soon as I think I'm ready I'm going start posing and friending! A new wardrobe - (no frickin sizes with an X in it), I want to wear dresses. I decided that's going to be my thing. Now, I never wear a dress unless I have too. Oh you know X...yeah she's has the best dresses! A new haircut - I have curly hair. Have to make it more attractive. (working on this one now) Makeup classes - I don't really know how to put this on but I'm going to learn! I have been hiding for awhile. Eager to show the real me. Share your list. I can't wait to read what others want for themselves.

I'm getting impatient too. I feel like the extra visits are unnecessary. I have to pay a copay mentioned and Coinsurance every time I go. So when I'm there I want them to do as much as possible they have the barium, psychiatrist nutritionist all onsite. I have to do endoscopy and cardio outside. I need my money for the surgery so I don't play around with excess appointments.

Holy protein Batman! 50 lbs in 5 weeks! You better drink up for sure.

Wow..you pretty much have to do everything in reverse that we're doing. Get educated by reading here and you tube videos on VSG help too. You can find folks with similar issues. Have you ever even considered wls? My doctor told me that vsg was discovered by accident. Patients like yourself with stomach cancer and the like have the procedure and voila' they were losing weight suddenly -even if they didn't really need to. Anyway you can catch up and make changes rather quickly if you read here and watch videos. Don't skip all the pre-op stuff and go straight to post op. Read everything! Your down 45lbs I hope that a good thing. It'll all work out for you. God Speed.

The Start of my New Life in 2016
Thinny replied to Ruth1ess's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Great story...We have the same goal weight and we'll be going in around the same time. Can't wait to get in those dresses. Probably pathetic but I've been trolling those youtube lookbooks to find my style (hehe). Dreams!!!!! -

Hospital bag....what do I need?
Thinny replied to nicky2221's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hear you should take the gas strips even though they may not let you use them. Also, headphones and music. -
Oh man...this sucks. I'll have to take mine off then.

Yes...Straight talk no chaser and Act Like a lady think like a Man. Good stuff.

Marley, I have UH and my list looks similar to Japeters. I don't need the PCP approval probably because I don't need referrals on my plan and I don't have to go to the pulmonologist because I don't smoke or have any known respiratory issues. If you've been getting an annual for the last 5 years they weigh you every time so there's that history! Easy Peesy! Make sure you have that right - weight history vs. weight loss attempts. I think I'm going to have to make an appointment and sit there while my pcp write the dates of my weight loss attempts. I hate to keep calling but I'm not letting them hold me back. Also, they had me sign up with this clinical nurse to follow my care! blah blah blah. Its required.

Calorie Kicker...I also have UH and I'm in the process of meeting requirements. I hope to get a surgery date by April. Anywho, if your pcp administered meds for weight lost then he/she just needs to note your weight at that time and the purpose. Even if they don't remember or know the weight, it just needs to have weight from one visit to the next. Also they got paid for the visits o get a transcript from the insurance company.Use the date you filled the script. And about that, all pharmacies have to keep a record. Get that and show it to the pcp. They have to at least account for providing meds. In the interim, Nikki is right...use the time to continue your education. But don't let a doctor set you back 6 months because of their incompetence.

Hey pretticalli916, Congrats on all your success. I expect to be going in toward the end of March. I'd like to know what you took to the hospital that helped and what you wish you had in the hospital. While I wait I'm trying to get prepared. Thanks

Just wondering what's everyone's story and starting weight was?
Thinny replied to nicky2221's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone, I'm new here. I will be going in for a sleeve hopefully by the end of March (no date yet). I have a few more appointments. I have been lifting weights and hoping that I'm one of the slower losers I'm terrified of the extra skin.
