Hi my name is Stacy and I was banded 1 year ago by Dr Ortiz.. The banding experience was wonderful they were all excellent the only problem I guess has been once you get banded you are on your own no support so that is where I am frustrated now.I have a 10 CC band and am 6 CC filled and i can still eat almost like before I dont eat bread or drink soda.And i know I am really naughty for drinking with a meal so because of that I am sure I have not had the weight loss one would hope to have at this point.Its a hard habit to break.I have only lost 30 lbs in a years time.In that time we have moved across country,new jobs, getting kids settled ,remodeling our house ect I put myself last and didnt spend the money on a fill.I have an appt next month for one and am a lil scared the last one hurt..HURT due to scar tissue so I am trying to get things back in order starting with myself and just looking for some support so I dont feel like a total failure.Those of you who have a 10CC band how full is your band till you noticed your weight really dropping and what does it feel like when you are full?? The Dr I had set up to do my fills has moved out of state:sad: So does anyone know of any Dr's that will do Fluoro fills for someone who was banded on Mexico?? Thanks!!

Ohh Graham, I have that stomach pain... or had it feels alot better now and I am 7 days out.. my incisions are healing really well .. but where the port is that still hurts some... Take it day by day and dont over do it!! HuGs!! Stacy

I had my surgery this last friday 2/8 pain wise I am doing great.. the gas wise I am forever burping and I am 3 days out .. when will this go away.. that is more discomfort than the surgery?? also I tried to have pedialite popsicles and it killed when it got to my stomach.. so I am off to get some sugar free otter pops.. anyone else not have a tolerance for sugar??I am great with broths and water and that is all I have had.:cursing: Stacy

Sorry I havent posted yet!I got hom sunday but have been super tired. I had my surgery with Dr Ortiz and the clinic was wonderful I really like his mom too.. 2 of us were waiting like what seemed forever to be taken in back and when she came out and saw us it was like a matter of 10 minutes and we were both in back getting ready for our surgeries. I was basically in a panic about the pain due to a previous surgery and I let every nurse and Dr know about it and first thing I got was an anti anxiety med....ahhhh things were much better:blush: The rooms at the OCC were soo nice and calming there were lil fountains in everyroom and spa like music playing and they even has sattelite tv from the USA.I changed into my gown and sexy paper undies and a wonderful nurse came in and helped with compression stockings and then it was just waiting my turn. Dr Ortiz came in to ask if I had any questions... boy he sure is easy on the eyes!And told me I would be next.I was wheeled in and there was a staff about 8 people in the Or which surprised me I thought it would have been less so I hopped up on the table and the anesthesiologist introduced himself and that is the last I remember while one of the nurses was stroking my hair.. I think I fell asleep before they gave me anything cause the anesthesiologist was still by my side talking to me. I woke up while the tube was coming out and went back to sleep they had me up in about an hour and I was walking around checking on everyone else.. I made about 30 laps total that night and did great and went back to the hotel that next morning.The bell hops at the lucernia were wonderful sooo helpful.. I just cant say enough about how sweet everyone was. My mom who used to work in a Dr's Office also went and she was VERY impressed with the clinic and how attenative the nurses were.I definatly recommend Dr.Ortiz and his staff.. I will be going back for my 1st fill. I would say the worst part was me falling the second day after surgery:cursing: I am a clutz and I think I would have been in less pain if that had not happened but everthing is fine and wonderful. I had lost 20 lbs prior to surgery and I have already lost another 8lbs so I am on my way.YEAA!!!:smile: Stacy

Graham, I told you you can do it!! You did wonderfully and you felt everything I did just 5 days ago.. Tea I forgot all about my tea.. I will have to have some today!! I am soo proud of you and yes it is a new beginning.. a better life and a healthier body. Sending big hugs your way!! Stacy

Hi Everyone I am Stacy and I am getting ready for my surgery this friday.. I am excited... and scared out of my mind:ohmy: I am actually haveing my SX by the same Dr that did the lapband for Cassie who was on Oprah yesterday..Dr Ortiz in Mexico. I have no issues with who is doing my surgery.. I am scared to death of pain..and thanks to the movie that came out 2 months ago now I am worried about waking up durring the surgery. Any advice or words of encouragement would be wonderful!!.. I leave on thrusday..... Stacy

I am scared out of my mind.. I am nervous and worried.. I guess all the feeling you have prior to a surgery:confused:.After reading different posts I worry about problems after wards too.I have been overweight for the past 13 years I need to drop 165 lbs and after trying everything this is my last option.I am also excited at the new beginning and look forward to canceling my subscription to lane bryant magazine:tongue: I cant wait for the end result.... Just scared of the beginning. Stacy

I am having my sx in mexico and the diet they suggested is slimfast for breakfast and lunch and a lean cuisen for dinner... plus you could eat all the green veggies and fruit you wanted anytime.I have my sx this friday and have dropped 17 lbs in 2 weeks.. it worked wonderfully and I was never hungry...also fiber pills can help with hunger.
