Ezma, wasn't your revision surgery today???

I just bought the wii console, but don't have the wii fit yet. I looked at the demos for yoga on the website, and tried a few of the poses. Turns out that I can't even balance on one freakin' foot anymore! How in the world am I supposed to do yoga? Can someone make a suggestion regarding which game(s) to buy for a balance challenged old lady? LOL!

Well, I certainly would notice if you were gone, Crystal! I know what you mean, though. I don't think anybody noticed that I was on vacation last week. Oh, and by the way, dear... you were absolutely right. Those three pounds I thought I gained on vacation must have been Water weight, cause that was Monday, and as of this morning, Wednesday, they're gone, gone and took another 1/2 pound with them.:tt1:

What do you eat in a Mexican Restaurant?
kjeter replied to Officeslave's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I usually order a chicken taco salad, and dress it with salsa rather than queso or salad dressing. If not that, I'll order a chicken quesadilla from the appetizer menu. While I cannot eat a flower tortilla alone, for some reason I'm able to tolerate them this way. I don't know why. One of those mysteries of the band! With either meal, I always get more than I can eat, and I don't feel like I'm giving up anything. -
Welcome to Victorious Valentines! I'm so happy you've found us. This board and my friends here have helped me more than anything else. I can always jump on and get answers to my questions, support, encouragement and suggestions. It's terrific. Don't let your PB experience scar you for life. We've all done it. Some days I can eat something with no problem at all, the next day that same thing will nearly kill me. You'll learn to concentrate when you eat so that this doesn't happen all of the time. Eating slower and chewing carefully are good habits to form, regardless. Again, welcome, and we hope to hear more from you!

Hello from another Metroplex gal. Welcome!

If you've had your band for 2 years, I'm sure there are some questions that YOU could answer for US! Are you at goal? If so, for how long? Is maintaining your weight loss easier or more difficult than you anticipated?

Hey, what's that thing in the middle of your body??? Hey, that's your waist! Great job, Honey. That's quite a cute shape you're developing! Love the hair! You look 20 years younger! -
What a beautiful picture! Please share more whenever you can!

The two things I have learned recently...
kjeter replied to coolcrystal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are 100% correct. Anyone who knows someone with a band knows it's not easy. Even my SB sister looks at me with such worry and sorrow when something gets stuck and I'm in pain. I tell her, it's okay - I asked for this. It's not easy when something like broiled shrimp goes down just fine one day, and I burp it all back up the next. It's maddening, really. The band only makes it SLIGHTLY easier to make good choices because you don't want to end up hurting, and it does make it easier to eat smaller portions. If it wasn't doing those things, it certainly wouldn't be worth the $15 grand I forked out for it. I'm not without the ability to screw this up, though. I went on vacation last week and gained 3 pounds! I'm not changing my ticker, though! I will have that three pounds gone by the end of the week or I'll take out a carving knife and peel it off my fat ass! -

My 4 months came around on June 1st. I don't remember exactly what I weighed on that day, probably my loss at that point was around 45 pounds. At that point, I had 3 fills totalling 7.4 cc in a 10cc band. -
Oh, I would love to, but I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow. Five days at the lake, Baby. I've been looking forward to this for three solid months. Can I catch you one day next week? That would be super!
-
Holy, moly! That's weird. I'm at 7.5 cc in a 10cc band. My doctor put in 5cc during surgery. I didn't feel like the band was much help at all until I hit 7cc. I know everyone is different, but I'm amazed at your success with such a little fill.

Brand names, please!?

Sounds like we need to meet up at Red Lobster again and increase your calories! The kids and I took DH there yesterday for Father's Day. I've been having so many problems with getting stuck and sore that I stayed with grilled grilled tilapia and asparagus, but I truly wanted the lobster! I was just so afraid that something that chewy would not go down. Nevermind anyway. I LOVE grilled tilapia!

Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Job well done!!!

Hmmm. Both Advil (Ibuprofen) and aspirin reduce inflamation. Curious that they advise not using them.
-
I've never thought that Tylenol worked as well on headaches as Advil. I do have some liquid Tylenol at home, so I guess I'll use that from now on. I'm just glad I didn't have to go in for that ugly "U-word." (Unfill) Yikes!

Dang I used to be able to finish that!

Hey, Rhapsody, there are three or four recipes for low calorie high protein pizzas in my new cookbook "The Hungry Girl." I can copy and fax or scan and email to you. Send me a private message with your contact info if interested. -
I bought a new cookbook the other day, "The Hungry Girl." I had seen her on TV, and thought her low calorie cooking concepts were very interesting. I found the book at my local bookstore, and I'm very pleased! There is a recipe in there for onion rings that you bread with Fiber One Cereal and bake in the oven. Only 115 calores for a HUGE plate! I tried them, and they're pretty good. However, my FAVORITE tip so far is a recipe for a low calorie margarita. Lord knows I must have my cocktails on the weekends. This recipe makes a whole pitcher of frozen margaritas, and the ONLY calories are in the tequila. The virgin style, without alcohol, is calorie free! 12 oz diet sprite 1 packet Crystal Lite lemonade 4 T lime juice As much tequila as you dare - count those calories! Put all of these ingredients in a blender, and fill the rest of the way with ice. Blend until smooth. YUMMY! I had some friends over last night, and many said that these were the best margaritas they'd ever had. Did you know that the average margarita in a restaurant has about 700 calories? YIKES! Depending on the amount of tequila, these have about 100. DRINK UP!

Thank you, Band-Aid! That's the best compliment I've gotten in a long time! I don't know about good genes... I just inherited greasy, greasy skin from my dad. Perhaps that will keep me from wrinkling prematurely, but it's no fun still getting zits at 43!
-
Actually, I think the blending process takes out much of the carbonation. The drink certainly does not end up being fizzy. If you're worried about it, let the Sprite go a little flat. It shouldn't affect the taste at all.
-
And as for the "other cocktails" part, there are lots of other recipies, in the cookbook, such as pina colada, daiquiri, etc. I highly recommend the book. Good, simple recipes and low calorie substitutes, plus every recipe lists calories, carbs, proteins, etc.

I'd forgotten about those cravings that come with the TOM. I had a partial hysterectomy (aka "Had the factory taken out and a playground put in")about 10 years ago, so at least that's something I don't have to deal with. Then again, getting older and closer to menopause can have it's own weight dangers. That's another big worry I have hanging over my head!

I can sit here all high and mighty and tell you that I don't crave or eat sweets (I don't) and that I have only cheated the tiniest bit (one slice of pizza) twice. The truth is, I'm a champion at losing weight. I should be... I've done it enough times. The problem comes later, and I'm absolutely terrified of it. I've never, ever been able to maintain weight loss. A chart of my weight for the last twenty years looks like the rocky mountains... up, down, up, down, etc. How in the hell am I supposed to keep this weight off forever? That's the yoke around my neck. I'll get to my goal, or close to it and be so happy that I'll celebrate by immediately gaining it all back. Is it hopeless, or have I finally found my forever solution?
