Thanks NeNe! I am eating three meals per day - just really small ones! Anyway, I start regular food today. I had an egg and sausage link for Breakfast. So far so good. I think I am going to try a chicken breast for lunch to see how that goes. I am exercising about 30 minutes per day. Hopefully I see some results soon! :woot: Have a GREAT DAY!

Dandy, I do feel restriction with soup and with yogurt. The pain for a fill is minimal - just a sting. I walked for 30 min last night. I weighed this morning and I am up 2.5 lbs. That part is not so good! I need to stay away from the scale! I dont think I am eating too much. MaryEllen

I am doing great! I had my first fill on Tuesday. I am feeling restriction finally! I hope to see weight loss soon! Today is my first day of mushies since my fill. I had a light yougut smoothie, a can of low carb SlimFast and a cup of broccoli and cheese soup. It is almost 5 now and I am still full from lunch. I wonder how I will feel Saturday when I can eat regular food. I have to go back and see the Dr in one month.

My first fill is on Tuesday. My surgery was 4/4 so it will be nearly 6 weeks since surgery.

In water aerobics - the deep water varienty - you run, bike, cross country ski, do crunches and really any other thing you do in a good workout such as hand weights, balance etc. The good part is that it is not hard on your joints! I love it! My shoulder is feeling a little better today - I have been icing it and will rest it for a few days. It is so frustrating though! I will have to stick with walking for awhile more while it heals.

How did it go??? I have my first fill on Tuesday. My instructs are liquids the first two days and them mushies for two days after that.

I vary what I do from day to day. Monday I walked for about a mile, Tuesday I played basketball and rode my bike although I don't know for how long and yesterday I did water aerobics at the gym. I love water aerobics! Anyway I haven't lost much but have my first fill on Tuesday. I hurt my shoulder during water aerobics as I had rotator cuff repair 6 months ago and it was not happy with all the use during the deep water aerobics. I am going to try the shallow water type next week after my shoulder quits screaming at me! LOL

I am one week post op today and feeling really good! I go back to work on Monday. I actually cooked dinner yesterday and today. I can't eat it but my family is happy to have it! I made Lentil soup today so I can put that in the blender and have that for dinner tonight. I got alot more fluids in today. I have had 40 oz of water which is something for me! My husband and I are going shopping tonight at Target and I may try a small coffee at Starbucks. Hang in there everyone! -
After surgery check in for Avengers!
ColoradoChick replied to LynneB's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery on the 4th. I stayed in the hospital for 23 hours and was grateful for that. I had quite of bit of gas pain in my rib cage and shoulder/shoulder blade area. I still have some pain in my shoulder blades. The gas pain was the worst part of the process. In the hospital they gave me pain meds IV so that controlled the problem. I did feel some hunger yesterday so I had some soup. I am not able to drink very much right now so I just try to sip constantly. My Doctor says I can go back to work as soon as I feel up to it. I have this week off but have considered going back to work this week. -
I am feeling good this morning! I had my surgery on Friday the 4th and am on the road to recovery. Taking it easy this week before I have t go back to work on Monday. Good Luck Everybody!!

I am doing well. Just sore and tired. I have this week off of work so I will just spend it relaxing! The surgery went well - I am so thankful that I was able to stay 23 hours. The IV pain meds were a god send when the shoulder pain kicked in. Good Luck everyone! -
I am getting ready to go to the hospital for my surgery! Excited and scared!! Good luck to my other April 4th's! I am staying overnight so I will post as soon as I am able!

Getting to Know You questions

Good Morning! My name is MaryEllen and I currently live in Northern Virginia but my heart is in Colorado. I have been married for 5 years. I have two daughters - 19 and 18 years old and three step-daughters 32,28 and 26 years old. I have 4 step-grandchildren and one on the way. I am 44 years old. I work for a small Telecommunications firm as their Director of Finance and Administration. My surgery date is April 4 with Dr. Robert Pinnar in Reston Virginia. -
I have been on liquids since last Friday and as of this morning I am up 3.2 pounds. It is kind of discouraging that I am so hungry and still gain weight!

I had my surgery this morning!!
ColoradoChick replied to alicatcyclist's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congratulations! It sounds like you are doing really well! I hope that I do as well on Friday. I will be staying over night. I can't believe how fast you were in and out of the hospital!! -
Are you guys following any special diet after your surgery? I am on day 4 of my liquid low-carb diet and the funny thing is I have gained 2.5 lbs since the first day of the diet. I have only had low carb protein drinks and soup - carefully measuring so I stay under my 50 carb per day limit! Instead of a guy magnet I must be a pound magnet! LOL Only a few more days until surgery - I am going to try my hardest to make it work for me!
-
Good Morning Fellow Avengers! I face the day today with "Breakfast of Champions" - Banana Vanilla Protein Drink served ice cold! This magical drink will help me start the day in a positive way in order to reach my goals! Go forth and conquer fellow Avengers! (It is fun to be a Super Hero!! LOL)

I am getting excited and nervous. I am doing ok with the liquids. This is day three and I am still fighting hunger. I havent cheated although yesterday I took a nap to get my mind off of the hunger! I went to the store and bought some different types of soups that are relatively low in carbs so hopefully it will get better! I went walking for 30 minutes - half downhill and half uphill. I was winded but kept going! I can't wait to see where we all are this time next year!!

I am using IsoPure and Unjury. They are both pretty good tasting. The DaVinci syrups are also life savers for me! I really like the IsoPure Vanilla with Hood's Carolie Countdown Dairy Product and a couple of shots of Banana or Peach DaVinci SF syrup! I am currently living in Virginia - but missing Colorado terribly!! Good Luck and you are do lucky to be going to Denver!!
