Congrats. on the NSV's!!! Most people don't seem to understand the importance of that "ego boost" thing, I guess because they get it more often than heavy people. I reached a point that if I heard one more time about how "cute your face is" I was going to scream. I wore a dress to work the other day and one of the male inspectors I work with eased up close to me and said, "you might think about wearing dresses more often." I told my husband that night and he said he always thought I was cute but my new confidence has made me sexy!!! I'M SEXY!! WOO HOO!!! -
Harley, congrats on being in onederland, that is a great accomplishment!!! Teri, I know the weather in Nashville is sweltering, it is too hot here. This is so not normal!! They are saying we will get a break sometime this week but by then you will be heading home. Special K, I think that donating your weight loss is an awsome idea and one that will help others. Might suggest it to a couple of friends who are co-dieting with me. No Wii either but K-Mart had them for 250.00 last week....K-mart.com?? I had my 1st fill on Friday, I now have 3 cc's in my 10 cc band. They told me my next fill would be in 3 months. Is that normal??

We went a few years go and keep saying I will go back. I have not made it yet. I live in Hopkinsville, KY and don't get to Nashville as much as I want. There are millions of things to do in Nashville and I love the area. If your feeling wild, hit Coyote Ugly or the Wildhorse Saloon. Since the weather has turned warm there will be alot of "different" characters on the street. I will watch the MA's to see if you wave. Have a blast!!
-
Teri, you will be in my area next week. I am about an hour away from Nashville and love to spend the weekend there. Have fun!!!

You may have it all. It was purple and nasty!! Also, bewear of sand fleas. They saw this red head coming and rang the dinner bell!! We rented a bright yellow dune buggy and drove up the coast. It was beautiful. We looked like Scooby Do, Shaggy, Fred and Velma. The buggy had no doors so we had to crawl in and out like a race car and us hauling our frames in and out of that buggy was hysterical. I have to think of it this way, 6 months ago my frame would not have fit in that buggy much less me hauling myself into the seat. I think that is an accomplishment!!!

Hello March people, I have been MIA for a few weeks and have been catching up on readin all the post today. Everyone has accomplished so much, either weight loss or loose clothing. I have gained 1.50 since on vacation but will loose it when I get back into the exercise habit. My 1st fill is scheduled for 6/06 and I need it bad!!! I did not want to receive it before vacation because I wanted to experience everything while in Hawaii. Poi (sp) sucks!!! Harley, I had a few Mia Tia's and did the hula in a grass skirt!!! You would have been proud! In my frame of mind I did a damn good job!! Glad to be back home and getting back on track.

DH and I leave tomorrow for our trip. I went shopping for something to wear on the plane and after trying on several things, my daughter brought me a dress, size L. It fit, looked good, and came home with me!!! I love my band!!! -
OK, although I am still planning on speaking to my doctor about these issues, everyone seems to have answered most of my concerns/questions. Diva, love the protein website, found I have been getting 69% of the protein I need daily and will increase that starting today. This might be one reason I have stalled on weight loss. Like Rugman, I also have been keeping my calorie/fat intake low and realize, like my father used to say, "I have to feed the furnance". (Yes, I'm from KY) I wonder if there is a site that calculates the specific calorie need for individual loss?

Travelling after one week of surgery
Busy replied to sunflower00's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I travel for a living, usually 400 - 600 miles per week. I returned to work 1 wk after surgery, was very tired for about a week, but got on the road. I think it matters what your pain tolerance level is and how much pain you experience after surgery. I really had none except where the port is. Someone used the example of 2000 sit ups, that just about covers it!! If you tolerate things well, drink your protein drinks and go on with it. I mixed injury powered protein mix with everything and sipped all day long. Good luck! -

JDUBO, you deserve a big smile. Tonight, DH's turn to cook, so we went to Subway for dinner. I ordered a salad and after getting our food and sitting down, the manager walked over to our table and said he noticed I had lost a lot of weight. (He knows nothing about my band) He told me to keep up the good work. DH said the manager thought I had lost weight through eating as Subway like Jarrod off the commericals did. -
Innertube, 51 lbs is great. He is going to be so shocked to see you not just with the loss but with the make-over. Great job!!!

Happy late mother's day to all moms. Went over to the in-laws to wish the mother in law a happy day and listened to the 7 brothers and sisters fight. After about an hour I told my hubby to call me when he wanted me to pick him up. Daughter and son got me a pink dogwood tree and was going to plant it but the wind was horrible!! I want warmer weather but not hot and humid like it has been the past summer.

Chica, you are probably right that I need to back off liquids but this is how I have eaten for over a year. A serving of yogart and a scoop of Peanut Butter in the morning, fruit or veg for morning snack, slim fast for lunch, fruit or veg for afternoon snack, then dinner. The only difference is I have backed off Snacks, put down soft drinks, and exercise. My job put me on the road alot; therefore, there is not always a place to eat at lunch so I pack my lunch. Slim fast/protein drink is easy for me to throw in my lunch bag. Guess I need to change my choices!!!
-
I so want restriction now also. I have found that no food is safe and have gained 2 lbs since last week. I am trying to make smart choices when my head hunger kicks in but that does not always happen. I have been drinking carnation/protein powder for breakfast, a protein shake for lunch, and then usually 1/2 to 1/4 of my dinner. Then about 8:00 p.m. crave something sweet. I have been sticking to low fat cool whip but tonight we stopped by DQ and got a dipped cone. I'm scared by the time I get a fill I will have gained back everything I have lost!!!

April, What is the reason for hospitalization if you don't mind sharing. Neverless, your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

So, are people beginning to "notice"?
Busy replied to tonyahebert's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Everyone tells me they can tell I've lost weight in my face. I also walk the complex where I work for my 30 minute lunch break for exercise and some have said they could tell the walking to working for me. I bought a new suit for giggles the other day and wore it for the 1st time today. I LOOKED GOOD!!! (Man, that sound conceited!!!) I am also starting to feel more energy but ready for a nap by 6:00 p.m.:biggrin2: -
Texgirl, that is so funny to think your scales know when you need an ego boost!! Do you think your scales will talk to my scales about giving me a little extra support??? Hey, 212 is wonderful but I know you want more...
-
Cathy, you and your brother-n-law are in our thoughts and prayers. Although your his support system right now don't forget to keep your own strength up. We are here for you and keep us posted.
-
Don't sweat, I am scheduled for 5/30, and assume I am getting a fill. I feel I have NO restriction and can eat anything that gets in my path. I am trying to keep up the walking and I have lost in my legs, butt, and boobs, my gut is not going though. When I try to do core exercises I feel something flipping inside..is that normal??
-
WOW Rhonda, way to go!!!! Wish I could stop at 1 cup of food and maybe I will after my 1st fill. My fear is the PBing, I have heard they are painful. Congrats. on the loss!! Fenton, I think you are right, March banders have a great sense of humor. I think we have learned to develop our sense of humor to adjust for the weight issue. BTW, 6 inches is a achievement, your going to have to have clothes adjusted or buy new. Since I am female you know which option I will choose!! Harley, I agree, enjoy the loss and know more will happen. Even if the scales don't move I have noticed jeans and t-shirts getting looser, and clothes I could not wear b4 fitting. So something good is happening.

Sent my scales on vacation last week. Gave them to my daughter; therefore, I only get to see them everyother week when I go to her house to sit the g-kids. We will see how this works!
