DouglasP13, what do you do that requires a 14 hour shift? I have had all my test done, completed those by February of 2006. At that time my doctor's office first submitted the info to the insurance co and they responded by saying I needed 6 months of supervised diet. Now I have completed that. I don't want to pay for this myself but I will if I have to. PJ

Mysherrijo, 4 DAYS OF SHOPPING IN NASHVILLE!!! Sign me up!! I'm waiting, waiting, waiting on insurance to tell me something as to if they are going to approve the surgery. I was denied about 8 months ago because I had not had the 6 months of supervised diet, now I have completed that and am waiting. How long does it take for the insurance company to decide?? So did you just find out that your son was engaged or are you in the process of planning a wedding? When my daughter got married my ex-sister-n-law, (a great friend) came from NC to help me. Everytime something "screwed up" she would say, "calm down, we are just making memories". My mother was ready to kill her but she was right. We sit back and laugh about all the mistakes and enjoy the memories. Enjoy it and have too much fun in Nashville. They have a Coyote Ugly bar there and the bar people, (men and women) get on the bar and dance. They are braver then I!! PJ

I am vaguely familiar with Rockapella but did not know they were in Evansville. I am in Paducah with my job, no fun until lunch time and I get to catch a little shopping. I still have not heard anything from my insurance company on if they have approved me. My husband and I were heading toward Branson Missouri the end of Sept for a short vacation when I found out my insurance would cover the surgery. Thought the doctor's office would submit the info at that time. I called the doctor's office last week and found they had submitted the week prior. Guess I will continue to play the waiting game for a couple more weeks. Them I will start contacting the insurance co. So are you planning on being private pay? Going to Mexico??

Hello DouglasP13, I live about 60 miles from you in Hopkinsville but I am in Paducah alot. Have not had my surgery yet also, I was denied the first time because I had not completed the 6 month monitored diet. Now I have completed it and am waiting for my insurance company to decide yes or no. Humana PPO, my fingers are crossed. Who is your insurance carrier? Luck to you, keep us updated.

Jo Ann How long did you wait to travel? I travel approximately 500 miles per week by car. I have not had surgery yet but recently the doctor's office has submitted my 6 month diet to the insurance co. Maybe soon. PJ

Tracey I don't know if this is too late, I live in KY and only sometimes view the TN post, but I went to my support seminars at Gateway Hospital. I currently am not banded but am working with Dr. Steely's office to have surgery soon. Sorry so late and I hope it helps. Phyllis

Yes, there are a few. I am not banded yet but have just completed the 6 month diet. My pcp is suppose to be sending info to doctor in Clarksville then maybe I will get a date. Congrats on your loss since May 26th, (my birthday). I want to be on that side of the forum!!! PJ

I live in KY and 2 years ago put in an in-ground pool. According to our pesticide person, the disruption of the back yard disturbed colonies of ants and for the past 2 years we have been infested!! We have a monthly visit from a pesticide company and the only thing he seems to do is chase them from one area to another. Although I rarely find them inside the house now, I can always find a trail on the deck or around the framework to an outside storage building. I have heard boric acid works but I have a fear of my dogs getting into that. I will be trying Nutrasweet, (as long as it does not threaten my pets) and crossing my fingers!!! PJ

If I used mine for dust rags the dust bunnies would run!!

I'd "sling-shot" mine somewhere...but the elastic is all stretched out!!

I am in KY and don't know what an HSA is. (I think FSA is a flex spending account) I work for the state and everytime they get the oppertunity to get cheaper group insurance, they change our coverage. So far I have had BSBS a couple of times, Anthem and now Humana. We will wait and see what Humana does.

I am familiar with Lourds but not with Dr Argotee. Do a search on him and see if there is a review from patients who have been treated by him. Good Luck PJ

I don't know how much of a deductable I will have to meet, since we are both Humana I assume I also will have to meet the $2,500. What state do you live in? PJ

GinaJ I also have Humana PPO and am on the 6th month of the supervised diet.:clap2: Prior to starting the diet I contacted my insurance company and was told the surgery needed to be medically necessary and 40 BMI. My last appointment is the 27th of this month, then my doctor's office will submit the paper work to the insurance company. Hopefully in a few weeks I will have an answer for you. Keep those fingers crossed. PJ

Amy, was married to the father of my children for 13 years till one day he informed me that he had never really loved me. It hurt, I cried and hurt for my children. I went to counseling alone because he refused to attend with me. Through all that I discovered it was his loss and he was not worthy of my time or my attention. That was almost 17 years ago and I am now married to a man that makes me laugh and picks flowers out of the yard, (yes, they are dandelions) for me. The Lord has a way of making you appreciate the gifts he will send you. Be the best you can be and wait for that gift that God has reserved just for you.

I went to Curves for about a month but had to quit because an emergency arose in my family....got out of the habit after that. Curves cost me about 25 or 35 per month, they would perfer to take it automaticaly out of your account, and will give a discount if they can. At our Curves, there are sixteen stations in a circle. Everyother station is exercise equipment then next to the exercise station is a empty station where you walk in place or self exercise to keep your heart rate up. You don't stay at each station long, max less then one minute. You move in the circle and after hitting each station I think 3 times, you move to a cool down area to streach. It really only takes 45 minutes from start to finish. Hope this helps. PJ

I have Anthem and am in the process of the 6 month diet, appointment #5 is tomorrow then one more month to go. It does go by quicker than you think. Keep your chin up and your eye on the goal, before you know it you will be the leader of the band (forgive, I could not resist!!)

Just read your journal, you seem to be a strong determined person who will get to her goal. An inspiration to people like me who are not currently banded. Good luck in MX on Monday. Remember on that plane trip home, you will be traveling toward your new life. PJ

I also am not banded yet and was having bad problems with acid reflux.. I was eating TUMS like candy everyday in additon to doctor medication. Part of my (and I think everybodys) pre-banding process is to have a scan on your gallbladder. My test came back with enlarged gallbladder and 4 weeks later I had an attack that brought tears to my eyes. I went into the hospital, had the gallbladder removed, (enlarged 4 times normal), and now I have a rare case of indigestion. For me the removal of my gallbladder helped me alot.

Iv'e taken Ambien before and could get addicted to it. It put me out like a light but I was tired in the morning. I guess I want the perfect fix, help me sleep and no morning side effects. I know, exercise...... PJ

Is there a specific dosage of melatonin you take and has melatonin changed over the years? I took it several years ago and it left me tired for 2 days. I also have bouts of insomnia and spend alot of time on the road for my job. PJ

I also am on month 5 of the 6 months of diet. If my insurance turns me down after this I will pull my hair out and be on the next plane to Mexico!!It has gone by quick. HopeWorks, let me know how Humana treats you, I will be talking to them in July. PJ
