Hi everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone has any positive experiences with CIBO? I really need to know as I am running out of options at another clinc (financial options). I would appreciate all input ...especially from those who have been banded there. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Hope your get together goes well. I work during the day Mon.-Fri. ....so that time doesn't work for me. Are most of you available though? Cheers Eileen

I wasn't banded in Mexico, but I've heard of others who had been and planned to take a trip south of the border to fill centres in Michigan. I wish you the best of luck getting your fills. Cheers Eileen:smile:

Any good experiences at Surgical Weight Loss Centre

Hi Lucy, I'm not sure if you are banded yet ..but I also had an amazing experience at SWLC. I'm much more active on my clinics board, so I just now saw your post. I started dealing with the SWLC in January/08 and I was banded one year ago tomorrow (july3/08) They have been professional, down to earth, caring beyond belief, non-judgemental and they are very active participants in all our events. The docs even show up to our holiday parties and chat with everyone. They are simply the best!!! I am half way to my goal 1 year post op and I'm thrilled that my clinic will be there for me FOR LIFE!:tongue2: Good luck in your descision Cheers! E. -
I'm sure a wee bit of this and that won't hurt. Just try not to eat like you used to at a party so that you keep those lost 10lbs off. Have a good time! I'm going out to the lake now!! Enjoy this beauty weather!:cursing:

I am fortunate enough (or unfortunate..lol...home with 4 kids:crying:....no pay) to be off for the summer so I waited until then (July 3rd) to have my surgery. But I think energy wise and tenderness of the incisons, I would have liked 2 weeks off I'd say. I guess it depends on what you do at work that would determine how long to take off. I hope all goes well for you on Tues. Congrats on becoming a Bandster!!!:cursing:

Hi marivan, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time. I really sympathize with you. That sucks! You are working really hard!!! I hope your doctor will help you investigate what is going on with the tests you want to have done. In the meantime ...keep doing what you're doing and you never know ... you may suddenly see the scales tip in your favour! Hugs, E

Hi fightingtolose, That is so awsome that you have had such a great experience!:smile2: It is very important to feel the way you do about the clinic you have chosen to care for you. You have done well so far, congrats!! How far post-op are you?
-
Wow, you are doing great! Thanks for all the encouragement!

Congrats on becoming a bandster! I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Hi all! Is anyone going to the SWLC Support Meeting in Mississauga this Thursday evening? Anyone going from the Sutton, Keswick, or Newmarket area?
-
Hi Maria, I'm really interested! I'm off work for the summer with my kids, so I am pretty flexible with lunch or dinner most days. I'm a 35 minute drive from Newmarket, 1 hour from Barrie, so my preference is Newmarket to meet but I wouldn't mind going to Barrie once in a while.

Hi all, I'm redeeming my gift card for the spa I got on Mother's Day for a spa pedicure and a spa manicure. Does anyone know how much tip to give for each service? This is my first time (and the last for a very long time) so I have no idea what is customary. Thanks!
-
Thanks for the replies ladies! I had a really relaxing time. It was a very posh spa, expensive sevices, so I tipped a $20. It was an unusally extravagant gift from my husband for mother's day. I should not count on it happening again anytime soon, especially since the surgery loan payments start this month!
-
Hi Everyone, It looks like we could manage at least a few of us to get together in Newmarket! That's great!
-
Hi Goober!:tt1: Ya, I will go back to Mississauga for fills. It's just over an hour from my home and it's free to go there. Hey, maybe some bandsters would be interested in getting together in Newmarket sometime? For a lunch or dinner or something. People from Sutton, Keswick, Barrie, Newmarket etc. may be interested.
-
Hey Goober! I'm across the pond from you in Sutton. I have heard of weight loss support groups being held at the supercentre in Barrie. That would be people using any form of weight loss surgery or even trying it on their own as far as I know.
-
I'm home now from the clinic a little over 24 hours now and I'm feeling so much better already! I had a ton of sharp gas pains all night in my back between the shoulder blades, by early afternoon most of my gas was gone. Getting better by the hour! Thanks for al the well wishes from everyone!
-
Awww that is soooo sweet! Good luck with your pre-op diet! I'm being banded in 3 more sleeps! Can't believe it! Cheers

Hi Disolvedgirl ! There were lots of reasons why I chose The Surgical Weight Loss Centre. I have been in contact with them for about 7 months (surgery in 3 more sleeps!) and every phone call, email and face to face visit has been kind, curteous, professional and caring. They have been very supportive and patient with me on all the trials and tribulations I endured to secure the procedure financially and with all the tons of questions and concerns I have had all along the way. I met in person with my surgeon, Dr. David Mumford, at my consultation and he has also personally phoned me to give me info about concerns that I had. In addition to all the support through all the profesionals at the SWLC, they have an awesome, supportive patient forum that is quite active. All your questions and concerns can be posted to fellow bandsters and you can also chat live with the members! I felt really at ease with this particular centre. E>L>
