I had my surgery done by Dr. Spiegel on Feb 22nd, 2008 at the University General Hospital. It went really well and I haven't had any problems with it. The hospital is state of the art healthcare and treats you very good. I have lost close to 70 pounds so far and I have about about another 70 to go. I have had 4 fills so far. I have a bigger band then most so it will take more fills to get to the point were I need to be. Mine takes up to 11CC. I believe that Spiegel is the most experienced doctor out there and is very helpful in the process. I have not throw up or had any problems, other then mild chest pain due to eating to fast. He only does surgery on tuesdays and friday so you are close to the same date. Did they give you a time on when your sugery would be? They told me to be there at 6 in the morning and i would find out then...That kind of sucks for family coming over for support. I find the slimfast shakes to be filling so far. Are you outpatient or staying over the night? I will be outpatient and will be coming back the same day. Hope all goes well with your surgery. I have my surgery on February 22nd. He told me to stay on all liquids for 7 days prior to surgery...That includes slim fast shakes and chicken/beef liquild soup

I'm on pre op liquids too and I just started today...I had my big steak on valentines day for I went on liquids...Surgery date is this friday!

I'm started my diet today and my surgery is on friday....I can tell right now its going to be tough going for the next two weeks. I'm suppose to be on all liquids....Any ideas?
