Hi Everyone, Iv'e been out of touch a bit lately, life has been in the way!! My surgery is this Tuesday the 26th. I am excited, ready and yet a bit nervous. I want to do this right, and do it forever, and I'm so afraid of failing like I have a thousand times before. I have an appointment tomorrow to talk with a therapist a friend of mine recommended to me. I HAVE to be sure that my emotions are going to be as healthy as my body will be. After all, I didn't get fat just because I love food, even though I do, there is more to it and I need to fix that part also. That is what scares me the most right now. Will I really get it, the complete picture you know?! Anyone else out there dealing with this right now or if you have dealt with it any advice? Thanks

Hi,I have just been approved for surgery later in February. I do have questions, is it hard to stay on liquids for 6 weeks after surgery, will I be hungry?, does this really effect your brain emotionally?, will my craving for sweets go away?, does this really work? I have struggled so many years with weight loss and now it affects my health daily. I just want to feel better and have a good quality of life. Please give me some honest feedback. Thanks

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I know this probably sounds really stupid but what is a PB? Several people have mentioned it in their comments and I haven't a clue what they are talking about?!! Vicki -
Is that a Bichon in your picture? I am a dog lover too. Size 10 WOW, that was way over 20 years ago. I am just looking forward to be able to shop in regulars and not big ladies! I've been trying to chew slower but I think that will be hard as well, a new learned behavior. Keep up the fantastic work, Vicki

Hi Lisa, I'm so happy for you and your accomplishments. Can I ask why you don't like to get the fills, are they painful? All the info I can get helps. Vicki -
AMEN to that! Being a healthy Grandma is one of my best motivations as well. Keep me posted on how you are doing!! Miss Vicki

Hi, thanks for your comment. Can you tell me if the hardest part was the physical changes you had to make towards eating and quantity, or was it the mental and emotional changes that had to be made to stay on track. Miss Vicki

Hi Saleel, Thanks so much for your comment. Today is my pre-op appointment and I hope to get alot of questions answered there. I have heard the gas can be a bit uncomfortable but I will handle it. Just knowing my knees and back will feel better keeps the other stuff at bay! I'm glad you are doing so well. Vicki

Hi Christine, I am very new here, just a few minutes ago, but want to share with you a bit of my story. I started this process in April of '07. I was going to go through OHSU in Portland Oregon. I went through all the pre-op stuff on time very efficently. There was one test I was horrified to take. I had the test scheduled the same day I had a colooscopy scheduled. Long story short, I found out that the hospital where I was having the test done did not require me to have the horrible test so I switched hospitals. I did pay a bit for that though. I had to re-do several of the tests I already had and finally I have been approved for surgery on February 26th, almost a year after I started the process. But not without a few complications. I was denied at first because my insurance did not have the "paperwork they needed". I thought they needed a Dr's. approval letter, no. What they needed was proof that I had been trying to lose weight without success prior to surgery. Have you been on any diets they were charted anywhere? For many that is what they need. I hope this helps. Good luck!! -
Hi, I would love to learn more about your journey, you are the kind of person I want to hear and learn from!! I need positive energy!!!
