  1. Happy 28th Birthday lorihawley84!

  2. Hi. I'm Lori, I'm 23 years old, and I live in Goddard, KS. I was banded on January 18th and had lost 13 pounds in the first 5 days. I weighed in at my pre-op at 327, and the day of surgery at 331. As of 2/12/2008, I have lost 31 pounds. I was banded by Dr. Niazy Selim of the Weight Loss Surgical Center in Overland Park, KS. He, by the way, was the kindest, most gentle man I've ever met. I had a wonderful experience at WTLSC, and they treated me like family. If I had to go through it again I would feel completely comfortable with the team up there... they were wonderful! I did experience some dry heaving coming out of anesthesia, but haven't had any problems with throwing up post-surgery. I go in for my first fill on Feb 20th. I have had one, and only one complication since the surgery. I'm still experiencing tightness and pain in my chest, dead center in between my breasts. It becomes rather sharp as I breathe in deeply. It comes and it goes. I'll be fine for a while and all of a sudden I can't catch my breath because it hurts pretty badly. It's really frustrating. Anyway, I was told it was probably gas - but I've taken gas-x pills, gas-x strips, and taken tums. I even had a prednisone cocktail to try to counteract possible swelling. It's still not really getting much better. Anyone have any suggestions? Sincerely, Lori 331/300 (Day of Surgery/Current) 120 more to go. Goal: 180 pounds
  3. I was banded Jan 18th and I am still having pain/pressure in the center of my chest where my ribcage meets, right in between my breasts. I don't know if it's from eating too fast or drinking too fast, or if I'm still really swollen from surgery, but when I first become vertical in the morning before I've eaten or drank ANYTHING I can feel it and in between meals and drinks I feel it as well. It gets worse as i breathe in deeply. Help! What do I do?
