I workout 5 days a week for at least an hour and 15 mintues...sometimes longer but it always seems to be atleast that. anyway somedays my legs don't feel like they can even make it up the stairs to my bedroom in order to put my workout clothes on let alone workout. when i do force myself to push through it and workout it's like i can hardly make it and don't do nearly as much as i usually do. this only really happens like once every other week or every 2 weeks. does anyone else feel like this somedays? and what do you do? or what causes it?

i do the breast cancer walk every year so this year i think i would like to do the 5k run. the one i go to is in des moines, i would think they should have something like that near you??

The people i work with have no idea i had it done...they just know i started working out quite a bit more and every once in awhile i'll throw in something about calories or something and a healthy alternative. i also have said i eat a high protein diet =) my family knows and only my closest friends know. For me it gets hard when my mom calls me everyday and ask me how much weight i lost...i finally had to tell her to quit. for 1 i don't weight myself everyday and sometimes i'll "gain" 2 lbs, then then a couple of days later "lose" 5. so for me that was added pressure and for me personally i really need to do it for myself first and not try to meet the high expectations of others...not everything always goes as planned. it's not an easy process and it takes getting used to and it takes time to break old habits. so my advice....do what's right for you...

I know what you mean! I generally do sunday through thursday and take friday and saturday off just because we are so busy. Sometimes it's really hard to do it on sunday when all i really want is a day off from everything! but it seems the more i do it the more i want to do it. right now i'm really into working on the speed i can run/walk a mile. my goal is to do a 5k in october. so that really motivates me to workout. I've also taken the advice to not workout as hard on atleast one of my days and that really seems to help alot!

I decided i would try a bite of angel food cake...that went ok...so did the 2nd bite...well the 3rd not so good! i've not been stuck but i think this is what stuck was. it hurt really bad and i felt like i may die! i didn't "pb" i just kept swallowing to keep it down. it hurt in my chest and it hurt in my back. so my question is this...if you're stuck and then you don't pb does it end up getting "pushed" from your pouch thru your band into your stomach? does anyone know? did that even make sense!?

Thanks! i think i just wanted "permission" to take a break!

Do you keep a food journal?
AAA022414 replied to Angeladarling's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
i don't really keep one but what i do is when i pack my breakfast and lunch for work every night i write down the calories and protein in each item. I have a small dry erase board that has a magnet that is attatched to the fridge so each night i add up each column to make sure i'm going to get enough protein and enough/not too many calories. then when i get home from work i know how much i should be eating for dinner so that i get my protein or don't go way over in calories etc. -
have you called to make sure it's covered on your insurance yet? some people don't seem to do that and then go through the process and then find out it wasn't covered. call your insurance company and ask them if it's covered and then ask them what your max out of pocket is...mine was 2k...so i ended up paying 2k for the surgery. my copay is 30....i think i had 5 or 6 appts before surgery...so under 200 in copays. when i go for fills i don't get charged for the office visit part i only get charged for the use of the xray stuff...i'm sure that will end at some point though. buf for sure call your insurance company and even ask them to mail you out the part of your policy that talks about bariatric surgeries so you have something in writing.

i was banded 2/28...i've had 1 fill of 4 in a 14 band. i feel like i could eat and eat and eat all day long. i go for my 2nd fill next friday...hopefully it will feel like it's doing something. i've felt pressure and felt like i was going to die only once...i took a bit of a donut...and then i never took another one. i can eat bread though...so i'm not sure what happened there. anyway i'm hoping for some restriction and some satisfaction after only a little bit of food.

my doctor and my insurance required both
-
haha! that is hilarious! my doctor is originally from peurto rico so along with his charming good looks, his amazing bedside manners, his general sweetness...he has an accent too! seriously...could it be any better! i love him....
-
I totally have a crush on my doctor too!! i love making appts because that means i get to see him! i told my husband then when the doc and i get married that he (my husband) can be our pool boy. he doesn't find any of very funny... Have i mentioned that i love him... he's dreamy...

does anyone know if there is a benefit to working out in the morning vs evening or vice versa?
-
holy cow! i wish i had the time to do that. for what ever reason i decided to go back to school for a 2nd degree so i don't have much "extra" time...that's kinda why i switched to the mornings...evenings are usually jam packed between working too many hours...going to class and too much darn homework! I love the way exercising makes me feel and hopefully someday i'll be able to dedicate more time to it.

ok...i posted a few hours ago saying i thought finally i was full...however i'm not...apparently..i lie! i just had dinner...i made scrambled eggs with some turkey peporoni (yum by the way!)...so today i've had about 850 calories. my workout this morning was 3.5 miles on the bike and 2 miles on the treadmill and then some free weights. did i not eat enough? i generally do more at night but this morning i ran out of time and when i work out at night i'm not hungry at all! my stomach will not stop growling!
-
well i hope it does something for my metabolism because it sure didn't give me energy today! i went to bed at almost 11 and got up at 445 so i'm thinking i just didn't allow myself enough time to sleep...i was tired this morning but i know i'll have to force myself out of bed the first few mornings. I was pretty tired all day at work and it seemed like i got hungry faster today. i had to have a protein bar inbetween bfast and lunch but now i seem to be ok. Thanks for your input!

that's kinda what i thought...i generally do it at night but this morning i was up bright and early and did my workout...what benefits does it have during the day?

do you drink pop? if you do stop drinking it...even diet pop...stop snacking...eat only at meal times and watch what you're eating...get into the mindset of what you'll be doing after you get the band...i lost 10 lbs in about 2 weeks by doing only that. -
high blood pressure...high cholesterol...diabeties....sleep apnea....those are probably the most common i had high blood pressure and take something for depression...however my bmi was over 40 so i'm not sure that really played a part but they asked alot of questions about the depression.

i live in iowa...milk at costco is $2.79...i still can't believe you drink so much of it! i would be totoaly bloated and killed over with the worst stomach ache! i guess it's better to crave milk than pepsi though
-
??? i'm not sure?? do you eat anything else? i have never been a milk drinker so the 2 cups i was told to drink is pushing it for me...i usually have to choke it down...my husbands like you though, he could drink milk and nothing else
-
i had them on both sides...when i came out of surgery the spot from the shot they gave me before surgery was the only thing i could feel afterward.!...they probably lasted a good 4 weeks or so...they start fading and go away don't worry! =)
-
no, i think i would have been fine...i'm sure they'll set you up with a big fluffy pad and then you'll have some high power drugs so you'll be in lala land for most of it =) do you have to stay the night or anything? i could get up, walk, go potty, wipe everything just fine.
-
good luck! keep me posted...make sure you call united behavioral health back to see if it would make a difference before you go through all the trouble...ask them if you have comorbities if it would lower the bmi requirement and how many you need to have to qualify for them. some plans require 2 some only require 1 other's may need like 15 knowing these ins companies =)
